See-through plastic shoes are all the rage this spring season, but if you ask me (and you know you were gonna, right?), this Dolce & Gabbana gold flats with PVC inserts are as far as this shoe aficionado is willing to go ($495 at Bergdorf Goodman). I know, I know, plastic has been a popular shoe material lately (it crops up everywhere, from Manolo Blahnik to Marc Jacobs), and I do confess to a certain fondness for kooky Lucite heels, but there’s something about plastic shoes (well, shoes mostly made of plastic) that is very unappealing.
