To PVC or not to PVC?
Posted on March 6th, 2007 by shoesense under Dolce & Gabbana Shoes, Flats, Shoe TrendsSee-through plastic shoes are all the rage this spring season, but if you ask me (and you know you were gonna, right?), this Dolce & Gabbana gold flats with PVC inserts are as far as this shoe aficionado is willing to go ($495 at Bergdorf Goodman). I know, I know, plastic has been a popular shoe material lately (it crops up everywhere, from Manolo Blahnik to Marc Jacobs), and I do confess to a certain fondness for kooky Lucite heels, but there’s something about plastic shoes (well, shoes mostly made of plastic) that is very unappealing. What do you think? For your convenience, I’ve started a thread (with a pretty picture of two YSL and Stella McCartney vinyl shoes) over in the forums.
