Spring for some Comfy and Stylish Shoes

Posted by jitterbugbaby in Anyi Lu Shoes, Cole Haan Shoes, Comfort Shoes, Flats, Wedges

Susan’s recent comment put me in mind to search out some of the best options for comfortable and supportive shoes for spring that don’t compromise on style, specifically flats with a bit of a wedge. Well, she asked, and I’m answering. Comfort and style is what we’re all about here at Shoeblog, after all. Here are some adorable and foot-soothing choices.

Aquatalia by Marvin K makes plenty of fun and supporting shoes that are often weather-proof, too. Check out the Wizzy in this pretty multi-tonal gold color. Metallics are in this spring. Jump on that trend with these business casual loafers.

I’ve talked about the Bazaar wedge from Natural Comfort before, and I still maintain that it’s a stylish and sleek shoe that will make your feet happy even at the end of the day.

The black is on sale for only $65 at heels.com and the teal and raspberry are still at Zappos.

If you feel like shelling out for a pair that are bound to bring style and support, and you don’t mind lifting up a bit more (only to 2″), then go for the Anyi Lu Soleil with its cute quilted wedge and Poron insole.

Or the sleek Anne from Nota Bene that I can tell you from personal experience is incredibly comfortable even at the end of a day of walking.

Looking to get your stylish support with a little less pull on the wallet? Try Aerosoles’ Printz Charming, which comes in a bunch of colors, including this pretty red and brown combo.

Or go trendily metallic with their Clean Slate in silver or gold.

There’s always Cole Haan’s line with Nike Air technology, which, this season, is offering the sleek and classically stylish Air Genie in black and ivory patent (ivory shown here) and this pretty brown metallic, too.

There are some options to get you started. Of course, spring has barely begun (at least, in my neck of the woods), and there are several glorious months ahead to find that Holy Grail of Footwear: the stylish and supportive shoe. They do exist!

Now you don’t have to choose between the shoe or the bag… you can have both!

The bootbag is $69 at Generate. Quite a bargain–you get two in one! :)

Bright (Cheap) Shoes for Spring

Posted by jitterbugbaby in General

Dammit, Spring will come!  I can feel it around the corner.  Flowers are starting to blossom and the sun is bright and cheery.  Temperatures are hovering just below the threshold of Spring-like.  Any day now.

But if you’re like me, sometimes you need to give Spring a little push.  Saturday night, a friend of mine was doing just this in these satin ballet flats from Old Navy.

Now, they’re not going to win any awards for support or comfort over a long day, but aren’t they just adorable?  She looked fresh and Spring-ready, and they’re now on sale on the website for less than $12!!  Plus, they come in lots and lots of fresh colorful patterns.

Looking for some other ideas to Springify your footwear on the cheap?  There are plenty of other cute options at Old Navy for the flats and heels sets.  These canvas wedges ($29.50) have just a touch of the rugged about them.

These flat sandals ($19.50) will set you nicely on your way to the St. Tropez beach.

And for your Spring-time picnics, you’ll be dining in style in either of these Audrey Hepburn-esque canvas skimmers (without ankle strap: $13, with ankle strap: a mere $8!)

How cheery and appropriate for the fresh new season that WILL. COME. SOON.

Miu Miu Harlequin Pump

Posted by shoesense in Prada & MiuMiu Shoes

We’ve been asked about the gorgeous pump featured in the post about shoes being the “IT” fashion item of our times. Helpful commenter Heids points out it’s available on the Neiman Marcus website–and yes, there it is:

It’s the Miu Miu cutout harlequin bootie, and it’s (gulp) $890. Check out the back and heel detail, too:

You won’t be seeing me wearing these any time soon, but perhaps a lovestruck reader with generous pockets will enjoy them. And she should: they’re positively gorgeous.

This Week in Shoes

For those that observe Easter, Happy Easter to you. Otherwise, Happy Sunday.

No need to worry about scuffing those expensive heels. Chanel’s architectural pumps are as resistant has car bumpers. Via Nordstrom’s from the Floor blog

Converse to release a Kurt Cobain shoe line.  What are your thoughts?  It is sheer greed or a way of honoring Kurt?

In one part of India, it is illegal to wear chappals (Indian sandals)  into a 5 star hotel’s pub. What’s the illogical reasoning?  The footwear can harm people. Government officials have opened an inquiry to study what type of harm could come about wearing these sandals.
