Shoe Designer of the Year 2011

posted by: fred in Celebrity Shoe Style

In 2011, shoe designer Brian Atwood continued to be one of the top designers of choice on the red carpet.  Atwood’s appropriately dubbed shoe, the  ‘Maniac’, has everyone going bananas over them and he  launch a (relatively) cheaper diffusion line of shoes called with much success.  For all these reasons, Atwood’s got our pick for shoe designer of the year.

On a side note, Saks Fifth Avenue has a number of pairs of B by Brian Atwood shoes (including the boot above) at over 70% off and in the upper hundred dollar range.  We were surprised to find many popular sizes still available but are sure it won’t last long.

Craziest Shoe Celebrity of the Year 2011

posted by: fred in Celebrity Shoe Style

By now, we’ve grown accustomed to Lady Gaga’s creative fashion choices.  From her sky high platforms, to her heel-less shoes and meat shoes, we didn’t think that Lady Gaga could gives us anymore kicks in the shoe department.  Yet, Lady Gaga managed to get our pick for Craziest Shoe Celebrity of the Year by having her shoes censored on national TV.  As a  guest judge for American Idol, Lady Gaga wore these plastic heels shaped in the form of a male apparatus and gave her little monsters another eyeful.

Reminder:  Be sure to enter our exclusive contest for a bag filled of shoe goodies over here.
