It is, indeed, the season of sculptural heels. Behold this cutout python wedge from Jil Sander–isn’t it an architectural marvel? As about the python–well, it’s real, and it’s never gone out of fashion, although "jungle" themes continue to be a big hit with designers. Available for $680 at Barneys.
