A Little Lacy Loveliness from Lanvin

Sometimes, I just want a shoe that’s really girly. I want something feminine and flirty and sexy and sweet all in one. When I am in that kind of mood, Lanvin is one of my go-to brands; they do girly in beautiful ways, and manage to make fun femininity the height of haute couture as well. Lanvin’s Jeweled Sandals ($995 at Barneys) are a gorgeous, absolutely stunning example of that.

Now, on the one hand, even I am willing to admit that there is a lot going on here. I mean, there is a whole lot going on with these sandals. At the same time, I don’t know, I think it works. Am I wrong here? Because I’ll also admit that I am sometimes wrong about things like this, and am also prone to thinking that too much is actually just enough.

Still, I fell in love with these bows. That’s pretty much the long and the short of it. They are so gorgeous and intricate, and the pairing with all the jeweled accents just looks so luxe and chic. These aren’t an every day kind of shoes, nor would they be right for every kind of special occasion, but you could definitely make a statement at the right event.

They come in gold, clearly, and I guess that’s where I can see how they could be too busy. What do you think? Is it much too much or just too much, the bows and the jewels and the gold? If the heel was any higher than its 3 and ½ inches, I would definitely have to go with much too much, but as is, I don’t know, I’m just really feeling these.
