Acne Sapphire, Yes or No?

posted by: HerberWellss in General, Walking Disasters on May 20th, 2010

I have been AWOL because a friend conned me into working on a couple of  projects with her and it has really been a time vaccum.  So, while she was gone for a few minutes, I took a little time to look at some sites for entertainment.  I found these shoes. These shoes are not new, by any means, but they are unusual.  So here’s the question:  Would you wear these shoes with the two removable rusty nail thingies on them?

They aren’t unusual without them, but it looks gimick-y with them.  I wonder if that back nail would hook up on things and send me skittering to the floor.  They are $1000 at Farfetch.

Uh Oh… Friend is coming.  I have to look busy.

I usually like really unusual shoes, and while the actual sandal looks comfortable, the nails kind of make it look like it belongs with a halloween costume. Props to ACNE for taking a risk, but I think the sandal with the ankle cuff is edge enough without the nails.

Oh my!! How did you find these? Not only impracticable, but the cost does not appear to include comfort and/or durability (as what I can see from the photo). Being a shoe connoisseur, I would never own this shoe. Thank you for your posts. I enjoy reading them daily.

Didn't Maison Martin Margiela have similar pair a couple of years ago. I think it is great if you go to clubs and like a rough, edgy look. But I would wind up with them sitting in my closet unworn. So, no, too impractical for me, a classic stilletto would get more use.
