Alexander McQueen Faithful Cutout Ankle Boots

As you can see, I’m on a bit of a boot kick lately. Normally I’d apologize for that, except I can’t be at all apologetic for stumbling across these Faithful Cutout Ankle Boots ($930 at Saks) from Alexander McQueen.
I hardcore mourned Alexander’s untimely passing, so it makes me really happy when I see that his designs and incomparable aesthetic are still thriving. These boots scream McQueen and make it easy to understand why he was such a stylish, edgy, and altogether awesome trendsetter.
Do you know why these speak to me? Because they are totally glam, and evocative of the Gothic style without being so outlandish that you’d never actually wear them. That’s a big draw for me, because while I love haute couture shoes as much as the next girl, I won’t even think about buying a pair of shoes unless I know I’ll wear them. I think I would wear these every single day of my life.
They feature Alexander McQueen’s recently signature skull detailing and hardware, they have a hidden platform, and a 4 and ½ inch stacked heel, and an open toe. That can be problematic in the winter time, I know, but since tights are so popular, that shouldn’t really be a problem. For the moment, it’s not considered a fashion faux pas to wear them with open toed shoes and boots.
What I love most about these boots is that look, honestly, like little jackets for your feet. Can you picture anything cuter? From the slingback strap to the zipper detailing, they are just honestly the bee’s knees, and I love every little thing about them.
What about you? What do you think of the open toed shoe, tights, hose, or trouser socks debate? Is it acceptable to wear them with peep toes?
