All that Glitters: Givenchy Evening Sandals

Silver and gold, silver and gold
Ev’ryone wishes for silver and gold
How do you measure its worth?
Just by the pleasure it gives here on earth.
I know, it’s a little bit early for Christmas tunes, but these beauties nonetheless have me humming in their honor.
I have not been a big fan of the whole “more is better trend” in studded shoes….Or so I thought.
But these glittery, glamorous, Givenchy beauties have me outright drooling. These babies have me casting logic (and perhaps whatever good sense and semblance of good taste I currently posses) aside and indulging myself in a primal case of window-shopper’s shoe-lust.
Givenchy Morrocan Studded Ankle Wrap Sandals $1174.50
Givenchy Touareg Chain Fringe Sandals $1237.50

April, my mother claims that when I was very little and just learning to walk that I would naturally rise up onto the balls of my feet and walk in 'tippy toes' position, and when she asked me why I did that my reply was "it just feels better this way" and she left it at that. My family now likes to tease me about having feet that are permanently formed into Barbie feet position!

Okay, but V, I am just shy of 5-3 and wear a 7.5. Once heels start hitting over 4.5 inches they become just really expensive bedroom shoes to me. Even an experienced heel wearer like me has certain limits. Not everybody can be an extreme stiletto queen like you. These, I could wear without much risk of physical injury.
Plus, at under 5-3, there's not much I can do to not look short, so that extra inch wouldn't do much for me except make me totter ridiculously. Not attractive. I've made my peace with that. Surprisingly, people who meet me in person are often convinced that I am taller than my true height. Something about having a straightforward personality, I suspect.

Sigh, if only…….blah, blah, blah….it's the usual from me. So gorgeous, tragic that they aren't an inch or two higher. I saw them in person and the heel is like a measly 4-4.5 inches

I love both of these! And I think these could be very tasteful and chic with the right outfit!

I haven't let myself off budgetary shoe-restriction yet. so,
But the Morrocan – OMG, I love them in spite of myself. lol. The remind me of a starry sky & summer meteor shower watching with my girls (except that I'm generally barefoot for that).
