Anyi Lu: Mod or odd?
Posted on December 5th, 2007 by shoesense under Anyi Lu Shoes, Walking DisastersI love the way Anyi Lu shoes feel, and most often, how they look. They are heaven for your tootsies, and they will give your outfit that classic, stylish vibe you were perhaps looking for.
However, I don’t expect my first reaction to seeing these shoes on someone to be, “Honey, watch out, you’ve got a little alien spawn on your shoes–it looks like he’s getting ready to gobble down your foot!”
It’s not that I don’t appreciate the design idea–I do, I really do, but in this case the effect is less funky T-strap variation and more praying mantis mounting a reptilian.
But again, I will admit to having a rather vivid imagination in this regard.

So funny. Something about them bothered me and when you mentioned “Alien spawn” I totally saw it. It does look like a face hugger thing grabbing on.
It also kind of looks like a big ant crawling up the shoe.

I spotted the coolest pair of Anyi Liu on http://www.shoemania.com. They are like the cutest pair of petticoat boots. Being that the heel isn’t too overbearing, you can wear them all day! Check them out…http://www.shoemania.com/anyi_lu_c4130.htm

I want to love Anyi Lu - really I do - but after buying my second pair of 3+inch pumps, I just can’t. I know they’re supposed to be the comfort brand and everything, but they hurt my feet something awful. And YES, I’ve been fitted and I AM wearing a big enough size. Both pairs have the rounded toe, so there’s more than enough room in the toe box. But the leather soles are so think under the footpad that there’s really nothing protecting you from the cold, hard pavement. I won’t be buying them again.
