Blake Lively in Stella McCartney Thigh High Boots

One current shoe trend I have yet to embrace and never will are thigh high boots. Appearance-wise, they are best left to those who have super skiny, mile long legs of which this shoe blogger does not possess. But even if I were taller, I’m not sure I would enjoy the lack of breathability in thigh high boots, what I assume would be constrictions in movement, giving up 10 or so minutes of my day to put the shoes on/off, or the minor flash of thigh as exhibited by Blake Lively who is wearing Stella McCartney’s perforated thigh high boots.
So I’m curious, if you could rock this shoe trend, would you wear thigh highs?

I would pull them on and rock 'em if I had the legs for it! It worries me that even Blake Lively has a little too much "junk in the trunk" to hide a little roll spilling over the top. Beautiful boots..but maybe they do just belong on stick-thin models.

These boots look wonderful on the Neiman Marcus web site. They even looked great on Sharon Stone after photoshoping. I can’t imagine them on a real woman. Look closely where her hip and the boot meet. Even on Blake Lively there is a *lump/roll*.
I keep remembering the Friends episode where Ross wore leather pants, then couldn’t get them back up after going to the bathroom. I think I would be the same in thigh highs.

At just under 5-3, I'd look like I was tottering on a pair of stuffed sausages. Plus, they'd be crotch-high & the pretty-woman-before-makeover thing is definitely not for me & probably an after 35 hard core No-no.
