Brian Atwood’s Feathery ‘Pazza’ Pumps

I am simultaneously thrilled and terrified to behold Brian Atwood’s ‘Pazza’ pumps:

Holy Moly, that’s a whole lotta shoe!

With all of those feathers, you need the confidence to completely ‘own’ this type of look. Otherwise, you run the very real risk of appearing as though you are being attacked by a pair of  exotic – and hungry – beasties who are busily nibbling away at you from the toes on up.

As an art piece, I find these truly dig-able.  They are, however, not so practical in my everyday, semi-rural life . . .  if I lived in a more metropolitan area with scads of gala art openings, perhaps these would have an actual chance of finding a wearable moment. So, these are obviously meant for some other shoe-diva than this particular shoe-blogger.

Oh well,  I’d love to hear if, with what outfits, and to what events our readers would wear such staggeringly ‘not-for-wallflower’ shoes?

Wow, looks like Batwood got the inspiration from talented young designer, James Sommerfeldt. http://www.jsomme.com/collections/platform/produc… Too bad James doesn't have a factory to make these for him. Wonder what else he'll be "inspired by". FYI these have been in James's portfolio for over 5 years.

I think it would look really stylish if you wear them. You can`t really tell from the picture itself, I think you have to try them on and then decide

"Pazza" means "crazy" (the feminine) in Italian.

I'm not sure why, but I think it's the feathers which make these pumps look so trendy and unique. I wonder how my fashion-conscious sister will find this shoe.
