Burgundy Boots

Born Kay Victorian Boot, $219 at Nordstroms.com

Burgundy, dark sienna, bordeaux, dark red, call it what you will. But dark red boots have been on my mind and in the stores lately. They call attention to your feet without screaming “I am a Siren!” (but of course, you ARE a Siren!). One of my fave dark red pairs is this Naturalizer pair I wrote about recently. Now I’ve got a beautiful pair from Born that I’d like to share with you.

More beautiful dark red boots after the jump, including my favorite, with pretty oxford detailing, studs and a wooden heel. Oh la la!

The Born Kay boots are so gorge, and I like that they have both decorative laces that serve a practical purpose of tightening the shoe, and a side zip.

It’s a 3-inch heel, and it definitely feels like a heel, but it’s pretty comfy. My only concern for you would be that it’s a bit tight around the ankles, and if you like that support, you’re fine, but walking up stairs, it can be a bit tight there for me.

I also very much like the similar Born Skylark if you can’t get the Born Kay in your size.

Isn’t this Corner Pub Heel with studs a stunner? They look very much like a pair of high-heeled Tracey Reese oxford heels I have. A bit more reddish wine than my more brownish Born boots.

Corner Pub Heels (more like boots!) $99.99 at Modcloth.com

Giraudon is one of my new favorite shoe companies. They’re reasonably priced for the high quality leather, they’re based in New York, and they’re vetted by expensive stores like Anthropologie.

How about a rainboot for good measure? Love this spicy, warm color!

I think you mean Framingham, Massachusetts :-) I didn't realize I lived so close to the flagship Marshall's. Did you stop by DSW and Nordstrom too?
