Carrie Bradshaw: I really love my Dior Extreme Gladiator Platform Shoes

posted by: Shomore in Christian Dior Shoes, I really love my shoe on May 13th, 2008

Warning: This post contains photos from the upcoming Sex in the City Movie.

Or should I say Patricia Field, the costume designer for SATC, really loves Dior’s Extreme shoes since she’s the one that dressed the character Carrie Bradshaw?

ET Online reported that Sarah Jessica Parker went through 81 wardrobe changes for the SATC movie. If you count the 4 shots below, Sarah Jessica Parker wore the Dior shoes a whopping 5% of the time so I would say this falls in the ‘I really love my shoes’ category for this blog. According to Marene Gustin from ShoeTube everyone is also in love with the peeptoe Dior Extreme gladiator platforms. When she called the local Dior boutique, she got a response of

“Yeah, you’re like the 1,900th person to call about those. They don’t make them anymore and not even the outlets have them.”

Ouch. Luckily, for you fashionistas out there, we’ve spotted the line for you. The Dior Extremes are now available in select sizes at Eluxury for $770. I’m seriously thinking of getting a pair if only to collect them and help me reminiscent about SATC. For those on a more shoestring budget, the knock off pair can be found at ASOS for £55.00. I suspect both Eluxury and ASOS will be out of stock soon.

Absolute genius! I love the way the shoe toughens-up an otherwise girly dress. Now if I could only find it in my size…

I would not kick out $780 for the Diors because the look can get dated very quickly. Its not like a classic pair of pumps, get the Bakers or Steve Madden version. I've seen even cheaper non-leather versions, by Anne Michelle, but they look too cheesy to even consider.

Patricia Field is working with HSN.com to bring some of the looks to the masses. They go on sale 9/23 and they have a variant of the coat going for $99.

hello, well i hope this helps some what…

i saw the gladiator platforms at Bakers, but luckily i decided to shop around and i found the exact same shoes at Charlotte Russe store for $29.99 and again at A'GACI for $27.99. The shoe looks just like the Dior version, except the strap doesn't go around the back heel & of course at that price it's faux leather, but they are comfy. it's a 4 1/2" heel Studded Gladiator Platforms available in black, brown, pewter.

Here's the website URL to Charlotte Russe: http://www.charlotterusse.com/product/index.jsp?p

hey ladies, i just bought the bakers version, pretty much identical to the diors except the back strap is different. I'm usually a 9 but had to buy a 9.5 they run a little small. I tried on the 10 but i was pretty much swimming in them. Good luck and happy shopping. P.S i just ordered the tan ones on line, i'm inlove.

I just bought the Baker's version of the Dior sandals. They are awesome!!! I thought since they were cheap, that my feet would hurt, but they're real nice and comfy. The leather is relatively soft. I heard that they're restocking on the 21st. I just wish they'd make the gold version!

I bought the Steve Madden pair and the platform is only 1/4 inch which makes these shoes VERY uncomfortable. Also, the shoes from Bakers look more like the Dior shoes than the Madden's shoes do (Bakers are about $30 cheaper and have a higher platform which means more comfort) I have problems with my feet and I've noticed that if there is enough platform I have no problems and can wear very high heels for hours on end!

Has anyone found where you can get a knock-off of the green floral coat???

Maybe I'm alone here, but I don't really think these shoes are all that. The fronts are too clunky for such a delicate heel, for my tastes, plus I suspect that on people who are not SJP, you'd run the risk of looking like you have some serious cankles.
