Brian Atwood Aurora Pumps

On this beautiful, sunny day,  Brian Atwood’s Aurora pump makes me want to say “I Do” all over again. The rhinestone heels are sure to make a gal’s feet sparkle on her special day.  Okay, sure, the floral arrangment may be over the top, but shouldn’t all weddings be?

While the Aurora comes in the traditional white wedding color, I’m partial towards the blue satin version.  Wouldn’t it make the perfect ‘Something Blue’ item?

Brian Atwood: Greta Sandals

Brian Atwood ‘Greta’ patent leather sandals $705 at Saks.com

I don’t know if  it’s the unfortunate pre-root-canal cocktail of antibiotics, ibuprofen & pain medicine that I have flowing in my system…or if it’s simply that I am more fickle than I normally like to admit. Whatever the reason…and, all griping aside on how ‘over studs’ I am and how glad I’ll be to see the end of the whole spikes & studs trend (and I am & will be, honestly! We’ve been seeing studs & spikes since ’08 for goodness sakes…remember RodarteGucci – anyone?) -  I confess that I seriously*make that intensely* like these ‘Greta’ sandals from Brian Atwood.

Unfortunately, after 2 years of trending, many of the metal-adorned shoes out there are, at best, unoriginal – and, at worst, look like somebody took a basic shoe, threw on some preschool paste & then tossed a can of metal at it to see where things would land, and then slapped a price tag on it.

In contrast, these Atwoods are simple and rather sweet.  They are not ‘trying to be rocker-chic’ or ‘tough girl’ and will not have anyone mistaking your for a lost fashion victim.  These are what you get when someone designs a low-key, color-blocked, neutral sandal and realizes it needs just a tiny bit of extra ‘pop’.  In this case, it works.
