Shoes for Harry Potter fans

Now that the Harry Potter mania is about to reach the same levels as the iPhone one, with certain people queuing at Barnes and Noble early in the morning to read its thrilling conclusion (and you know who you are), perhaps it’s time to think of ways to greet the wizardry fest shod in some proper witch shoes.

If you’re on a budget, of course, you can go with these:

Witch shoes

cheap witch shoes which you can get for $30 here and there on the internets.

But if you can conjure some riches with the tip of your magic wand, here’s a much more fabulous option:

Casadei 4768

Casadei 4768 Red Velvet Boots, $451 on Zappos (and that’s almost half off). Now, that’s kicking it in style!

Or if the knee-high length is sort of overkill for ya, there are these (by comparison) understated booties:

Etro 6028

Etro 6028 purple sueded booties with croc trim, $335 at Zappos (over 40% off). Wouldn’t Hermione be proud of wearing these?

Of course, you can always sex it up French style:

Roger Vivier deep purple patent buckle pumps, $315 at Bluefly (40% off). Definitely something Fleur Delacour would don to seduce Harry!

Finally, if you can’t decide you want to be a witch or a wizard, here’s something appealing to your androgynous side:

Bottega Veneta wingtip oxfords in brown, purple and green leather, $464 at Bluefly (20% off).

See you all at Hogwarts, my friends!

bright springtime fun

Not that I could ever wear a shoe this high (4 inch heel) or this pointy in the toe, but this Casadei suede Mary Jane sure is pretty!

Casadei Mary Jane

And even better? It’s on sale for $150 down from $440. There’s still a range of sizes left, too, so you might be able to score big here.

And further on the Casadei springtime fun front, look at this playful grapevine-enhanced platform sandal. Again, on the high side for me (4.25 inches), but so cute, I can’t resist it. Also on sale ($172 instead of $430) and still in a bunch of sizes.

Want the perfect sandal to sit outdoors and sip sangria in? How about this one from ItaloBalestri. It’s capitalizing bigtime on this spring’s trend for natural materials, and impressively making a ginormous flower applique look classy and fun instead of garish, which it would be if the rest of the shoe weren’t so beautifully simple.

I’m a big fan of these Casadei velvet bow flats. I have the black version, but these (moro) are equally lovely. They’re quite comfortable for a flat, and I got tons and tons of compliments for them. They are definitely shoes with a personality and guaranteed to get you noticed while keeping you comfortable. They’re now available for $171 from Bluefly, half off the original price.

No, really! Bluefly usually has a pretty decent selection of shoes (in fact, I think it’s their MOST decent selection), and today is your lucky day, with the extra sale and all. You can get your hands, for example, on these delicious suede Casadei flats with pink leopard pony hair vamp detail, for $192, down from $400 (that’s 52% off):

Or you can get these blue patent ‘Pondesoupir’ cut-out slingbacks from the one and only Christian Louboutin, for $264 instead of the usual $550, also 52% off:

…Or these BCBG Max Azria brown zebra print pony hair ‘Elea’ moccasins, which, if I’m not entirely mistaken, were on somebody’s wish list not too long ago! (or a version thereof, anyway):

For only $108 (down from $225), I think I’m going to check them out… Happy Friday shopping, you shoelovers!
