Project Runway 4: Episode 4 Shoes

Posted by jitterbugbaby in Christian Dior Shoes, Delman Shoes, Shoes of Project Runway

Knowing that these shoes are there to be found on Bluefly is just irresistible to me. So, here’s another installment of Project Runway 4 Shoe Scouting.

Well, Christian Dior’s “Marie Antoinette” shoes are clearly getting a lot of love, because they’re back again this week (remember that Victorya used them in the first episode).

PR 4: Elisa Christian Dior

In that same group, Victorya’s model this week looks like she was wearing these satin Linnie wedges by Delman, a classy choice if you ask me.

PR 4.4: Victorya Delman wedge

Steven’s dancewear inspired outfit was paired up (nicely, I thought) with these Leopoldo Giordano wedge Maryjanes.

The zoot suit/fringe/pleather group had the best shoes, I thought, but I wasn’t able to hunt them down on Bluefly. Ah well. There’s always next week.

Saturday Bluefly Sale: Take an extra 15% off!

Posted by shoesense in Boots, Delman Shoes, Flats, Gucci Shoes, High heels, Hot Shoe Deals and Steals, Kate Spade Shoes, Prada & MiuMiu Shoes, Stuart Weitzman Shoes

It’s Saturday and that usually means the kick-off of some awesome sales around the Internets. I strongly suggest you check out the Bluefly sale, Sat.-Mon., which will give you an extra 15% off merchandise already on sale. I’ve picked just a few examples, but trust me, there is a lot more and I’d do some browsing in the lazy days of the afternoon if I were you.

So, here are some shoes that caught my eye:

Delman silver or gold flats, $76.50 (down from $255–that’s 70% off!)

Delicious Kate Spade purple velour slingbacks, now $81 (down from $295–that’s 73% off!):

Stuart Weitzman work-approved, yet delightfully stylish and cute lime green loafers, now $85 (down from$250–that’s 66% off!)

Slimmifying Delman tall stretch boots, fit for any calves, and now for any budget–$93.50, down from $310, that’s 70% off!

Designers are well-represented, so here’s your chance at owning some labels that might otherwise be out of reach–they’re usually about 50% off, sometimes more. I think these Prada camel leopard print pony hair pumps, $354, down from $695, are simply fab:

And so are these Gucci red sparkle patent buckle flats, $216, down from $425:

The sale lasts till Monday, and alas, sizes are quite limited–so if I were you, I would hurry.

Happy bargain shopping, shoe lovers!

Trend sleuth: Oxford…thongs?

Posted by shoesense in Azzaro Shoes, Cynthia Rowley Shoes, Delman Shoes, Georgina Goodman Shoes, Michael Kors Shoes, Sandals, Shoe Trends, Tracy Reese Shoes

Is there a name for these shoes? Full back coverage, but a bare thong in front? They seem to be the opposite of slingbacks (if footwear had antonyms, that is). For example:

GG
Georgina Goodman sandals (with elasticized back and twist-tie thong), $325 at Barefoot Tess.

A very similar style comes from Irregular Choice–’Dirrty’, available for $110 at Nordstrom, in black or ’snake’:

By comparison, these below are positively business-like:

Delman
Delman ‘Una’ Sandal, $300 at Barefoo Tess. The Anthropologie team captures their oxymoronic nature when they dub these shoes ‘Oxford thongs’.

Or how about these Tracy Reese fiery thongs, $338 at Anthropologie. What’s that sticking from the back, you say? Why, I’m glad you asked:

Shark-teeth brass-detailed spurs!!! Now, that’s original! And scary!

And these Cynthia Rowley ‘Tuxedo’ thongs sport a minimum-coverage quarter, positively risque compared to the styles above–$131 at Anthropologie. Strangely, they remind me of a penguin.

Here’s a much more dressed-up version, the Azzaro Crystal sandal, $570 at Neiman Marcus.

However, I urge you to stay away from some variations, like the model above, which are indeed tragic ($118 at Free People Boutique). Rather, take advantage of the current sales and snag this chic Michael Kors ‘Gavi’ sandal, only $70 at Bloomingdales (sadly, only in sizes 7 and 7.5).

Primary colors

Posted by shoesense in Anthropologie, Delman Shoes, Wedges

I am a huge, nay, fanatic supporter of bright vivid colors in the summer–and come to think of it,  just about anytime, for what is life without a good dip and swirl in the pool of primary colors? Summer, however, gives you more than a justification, it practically gives you a kick in the butt to wear bright colorful outfits, saturated in just every shade of the rainbow.

Which is why I am super-pleased to recommend these red-upper Delman sandals with a multicolor wedge heel–rather high, but also high on the spectrum of visibility. These almost comically-happy shoes will take you to many happy places, or at least, that’s their promise. Better yet, they’re half off, going for about $164 at Anthropologie.
