Giambattista Valli’s Mixed Neutral Floral Fancies
posted by: brianka in Flats, General, Giambattista Valli, High heels, Sandals, Spring 2011 Shoes
I don’t know about you, but all of this snow, ice, rain, ice……blah, blah, blah …. I am so incredibly tired of boots & thick winter socks, I could scream!
Enough of all this snowpocalypse nonsense, bring us some spring already.
/end rant/
Luckily, just as my sanity is ready to snap, along comes Giambattista Valli with a set of cute floral sandals that I could wear with *almost* anything.
Giambattista Valli flower detail ankle wrap D’orsays $762 @ Nieman Marcus.
Sigh, just in time for Valentine’s Day, these are giving me little heart-flips. Floral heels for those flirty gals who, like me, are normally more than a little bit pink-and-pastel averse.
Shoe Girl Crush – Zoe Saldana
posted by: Shomore in Alaia Shoes, Celebrity Shoe Style, Fendi Shoes, General, Giambattista Valli
It’s been a while since I’ve have a shoe girl crush. By that, I mean that I’ll go gaga over every pair of shoes a celebrity wears. Last year, one of my favorite shoe girls was the same as Jitterbugbaby’s, who wrote a lot about Gwyneth Paltrow shoes.
This year, I think we already have a strong contender for 2009 Shoe Girl Crush. That person is Zoe Saldana and whoever her shoe stylist may be. Since she started appearing on red carpets to promote the new Star Trek movie, I have to admit that I’m been scouring the web for images. The shoes she wears are always so unexpected (i.e. not Louboutin), edgy, and glamorous. Oh yeah, the outfits aren’t bad either but the shoes are the main focal point. So without further ado, here are some of Zoe’s fabulous footwear.
Shoe Crush #1: Giambattista Valli Spring 2009 heels

Shoe Crush #2: Patent Multi-Strap Heels (I’m not sure who the designer is, but the shoe look like they are either by Phi or Emilio Pucci)

Shoe Crush #3: Alaia Lace Ups
Shoe Crush #4: ‘Wicked’ Pumps by Brian Atwood
Anyways, you get my drift. For more out of this world shoes, click on some of the thumbnail shots below.

Saturday Sales Highlight: Stuart Weitzman at 6pm.com

Not that it isn’t obvious from my blogging history, but I can’t seem go for more than a week without checking my favorite bargain sites to see what is new and affordable (comparatively speaking).
So, after a quick window-shopping hop over to 6pm.com, I wanted to share a few of the many Stuart Weitzman styles to be had at at this shoe-discounter extraordinaire:

Stuart Weitzman ‘Yeti’ (perfectly named!) $292.50 $575, in lama (shown) or black suede.
I am not completely certain how I feel about the recent proliferation of fuzzy-shafted knee boots. But, with snow predicted – Again! – this week, I am drawn to anything halfway sexy that also looks toasty warm. Plus, the platform on these is reminiscent of styling seen on shoes from Giambatista Valli (though this is a less extreme platform) , which are anything but drab.

Stuart Weitzman Ribbon-tie ‘Charleston’ sandals $146.25 $285 in Red or Black.
I have difficulty wearing styles with a separate D’orsay toe style due to the width of my foot at the instep. Nevertheless, I am continually drawn to these oh-so-sexy open and strappy styles. This sandal is just so feminine that it will never truly be out of style. Ribbons are such a classic and flirty touch.

Stuart Weitzman ‘Sashay’ $143.91 $285 in Blue Degrade Patent.
What can I say? This is a classic peep-toe in a stunning electric-blue ombre. The ombre/degrade color shift is just the thing to match every piece of blue in my closet. Lovely.
And really, where would I be if I didn’t mention Oxfords? I know there are folks out there who hate the current Oxford trend. I, on the other hand, continue to look for Oxford variations with which to stock my closet. For, one thing I have learned: If you love a trend, it is better to stock up on styles that you love and will wear – while they are still around – than live with regret for 15 years wating for the style wheel to spin its way back around again.

Stuart Weitman ‘Valleygal’ $135.72 $265, in Linen/Black Cayman Croc (Size 9 0nly).
Let’s just say this is not your innocent schoolgirl’s Oxford. The croc-patterned leather gives this a nice touch of grown up minx for either work or play.

Stuart Weitzman ‘Hartford’ $153.27 $305,size 10 only.
This is an Oxford bootie that has just a touch of Mod appeal in it’s reverse-spectator styling. Too bad they no longer have this graphic cutie in my size.
So, 6pm.com currently has a great range of styles available for any Stuart Weitzman fans out there. As always, have fun browsing…or buying, as the case may be.
Happy Saturday, folks!
What men think of spring’s designer shoes
posted by: Shomore in Christian Dior Shoes, Giambattista Valli, Prada & MiuMiu Shoes
NY Mag recently did a street interview with a few men to get their take on spring designer shoes by Giambattista Valli (top left), Prada (top right), and Dior (bottom left and right).
Can you guess this of these shoes looked like Adidas? Frankly, I had a hard time picturing it.
Giambattista Valli’s “Victoria” Shoes
posted by: shoesense in Giambattista Valli, High heels, Platforms
One of the shoes we get the most inquiries about are the Giambattista Valli “Victoria” shoes, so eloquently modelede by his muse, Victoria Beckham, as seen here. Frustrated shoe lovers everywhere are crying in vain and pumping their well-manicured fists at the sky: Why, oh why were they condemned to behold such splendor only so they be denied?
Unfortunately, the Victoria shoe doesn’t seem to be found with any large retailers in the US. The only way to buy it–but only in one color combo–is through Luisaviaroma for €600 (I’m guessing, about $900?):
Good thing though? At this price you get free worldwide shipping (plus VAT deduction, which can be substantial). Just make sure you can walk in them, though–after all, they are about 6-inch high.
Or, you can always be patient and wait until they come to a store near you (yeah, I don’t really believe it either).
