Givenchy’s Toe Tips
posted by: freePOrnaoa in Givenchy Shoes
I am enjoying the small, elegant, geometric toe tip cap that has found its way onto Givenchy’s pointed shoes. The shape is really fun. A closer look at that toe tip and pricing details for the pretty D’Orsay and Satin Pansy Print Pump (at right) after the jump.
Spring 2011 Shoe Trends: Statement Wedges

Wedges are a seasonal favorite each spring. Your typical cork or rope-espadrille styles bring a casual, effortless, feel to almost any summer outfit. But, while classic, your basic chunky, neutral-toned, wedges are not really bringing anything new to your outfit. Luckily, we have started to see shoe designers embrace varied wedge widths, swept-forward angles, layering, and more when it comes to adding fantastic and feminine details on their wedge-heeled offerings. I am loving this. After all, think of all of the potential artistic real estate the wedge surface offers; why pass up the opportunity to take advantage of this oft-ignored area of the shoe’s design canvas?
So, while we have already shown you the season’s statement-wedge to beat all statement wedges, there are still plenty of other fun, flirty, or outright glamorous options available to spice up either your weekend-casual or elegant-evening summer wardrobe (most of which will, incedentally, run you a whole lot less green than the oh-so-over-the-top McQueens at the above link).
These first wedges are these Lanvin Puzzle wedges. The neutral pump, in particular, can easily be dressed up or down for daytime or evening occasions. (Lanvin* puzzle wedges available at Nordstrom.com for $1120 (snake print) to $1280 (black or beige).
Givenchy Stocking Ankle Boots

Quite a few Fall 2010 runways featured the below-the-knee socks trend that was worn under booties. Of the shoes seen on the runway, I’m fascinated by the Givenchy Stocking Ankle Boot because the stocking is included with the boot. On one hand, I love this idea – no need to worry about accessorizing with the right pair of socks. Givenchy has already taken care of this for you. Conversely, I wonder if I’d have to wear a sock under the Givenchy sock boot to keep my toes dry. Also what happens if Givenchy’s sock gets dirty? It doesn’t seem like I would be able to (more…)
Runway to Retail: Givenchy Spring 2010 Couture

I love checking out the new fashions and shoe styles that appear on the various runways during so-called fashion week (which is what, at least a month long now as it moves from city to city?). One of the things that is both exciting and frustrating to me is seeing which items, and in what final variations, finally make it into the land of retail (and since I live 3-5 hours away from any major metro centers, online retailers in particular).
These ankle boots from Givenchy’s spring 2010 couture runway intrigue me. (more…)
All that Glitters: Givenchy Evening Sandals

Silver and gold, silver and gold
Ev’ryone wishes for silver and gold
How do you measure its worth?
Just by the pleasure it gives here on earth.
I know, it’s a little bit early for Christmas tunes, but these beauties nonetheless have me humming in their honor.
I have not been a big fan of the whole “more is better trend” in studded shoes….Or so I thought.
But these glittery, glamorous, Givenchy beauties have me outright drooling. These babies have me casting logic (and perhaps whatever good sense and semblance of good taste I currently posses) aside and indulging myself in a primal case of window-shopper’s shoe-lust.
