Jimmy Choo: Project Pep 72-hour preview

Posted by galligator in Fall 2009 Shoes, High heels, Jimmy Choo Shoes, Sandals

Sometimes email is just plain fun to open.

Case in point:

Note that Jimmy Choo is launching the “Project PEP” Collection in which 25% of the net sales will be donated to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Also note that you can preview this collection online now or at the 72-hour ‘pop-up shop’ - if you are lucky enough to be living or travelling in the UK and in range of the Jimmy Choo concept store located in Selfridges, London.

In my case, I’m pretty much stuck with the online preview of this very colorful Choo collection.

Here are my quick faves:

The ‘Pep Loop’ sandal ($975):

Or, this cute little wrist cuff ($245):

And, because I’m really more of a wristlet than huge handbag gal, this little ‘Filipa’ wallet:

Which one is your favorite?

Jimmy Choo for H&M: A first look

Posted by r5bales in Jimmy Choo Shoes

We have all been waiting for photos of the Jimmy Choo line that will be sold in select H&M stores on November 14, 2009.  Here are some of the latest, released shoe and handbag photos.  There is lots of sparkle and shine for the holiday season, priced around $129.

General reaction has been mixed.  Some say that the only reason they will be purchased is because they are Jimmy Choos, some say these styles are just more of the same, others say they are fab.   What do you think?

You, your Shoes and 72

Posted by Shomore in Jimmy Choo Shoes, Shoe Contests

Jimmy Choo has launched an online photo competition called ‘You, Your Shoes and 72’ to support Project PEP, a charity collection that donates 25% of sales to the Simelela Rape Centre in South Africa. The money goes towards providing the HIV-preventative treatment PEP (which must be taken within 72 hours of exposure to HIV) and counseling to victims of rape in South Africa. The grand prize winner receives 7 pairs of Jimmy Choo shoes and 2 handbags, plus there are 100 exclusive Jimmy Choo runner up prizes.

Here are some of my favorite entries so far:

.

I was pretty blown away by everyone’s creativity.

Entries can be in any format (photograph, artwork, drawings, paintings) and winners will be picked from a shortlist of entrants whose photos have the highest rating. On that note, here’s a shameless plug for myself.  Keep in mind that I do not have an artistic bone in my body.

There are two deadlines for the contest.  The first is 26th October 2009, if you want your photo to be considered for exhibition at the Project PEP launch event at Selfridges in London. The final competition deadline is 7th December 2009, when overall winners will be announced.

So have a little fun.  Tap into your inner Picasso by taking part in this very worthy social contest and spread the word about this vital 72 hour time window.  I’d love to see what your creative juices can cook up.

Saks’ Shoe Heaven Has a Sale, its Own Shoe Code … and an Express Elevator!

Posted by trainingheels in Alexander McQueen Shoes, Christian Louboutin Shoes, Giuseppe Zanotti Shoes, Jimmy Choo Shoes, Marni Shoes, Roger Vivier Shoes, Spot the Shoe on Sale

Going to Saks’ Shoe Heaven is an experience, especially when they’re having a sale. The shoe floor is so big, it has its own zip code: 10022-SHOE! We’ve written about it before, but with this sale, it deserves a fresh look.

You take an express elevator (here’s a photo of Kellie Pickler in front of said elevator) to the eighth floor and start getting excited while you’re in the elevator, which says 10022-SHOE.

The shoe mecca has its own repair service, Charbonnel chocolate cafe and private room for VIP shopping. There is also a large selection of Roger Vivier bags and shoes against the wall adjacent to the VIP room. I don’t love the Vivier Pilgrim Pumps, but some of the bags are great.

The first thing that hits you when you come in is a tough, black, motorcycle-styled display by some of the most prominent shoe designers today, including McQueen, Choo and Louboutin. Yup, that trend is still rockin strong.

The above shoes are not on sale, unfortunately, but may be by this fall if there are any left.

I will post more photos later, but for now, I’d like for you all to know that it’s going on so you can check it out during your strolling midtown business lunch! Plenty of iconic Marni, Louboutin and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes were on sale. That means that shoes that range from a bottom of around $500 to a top of around $1500 were on sale for around $200 to $500. Not bad.

Don’t get me wrong, there weren’t only 7 to 7.5 shoes on sale, but like many women, that has always been my dream size (I’m an 8.5 to 9), so I snapped a photo of those in wishful thinking.

If you’re buying online, there’s free shipping on all orders with the code SFASUM9, only through today.

Jimmy Choo for H&M

Posted by Shomore in Jimmy Choo Shoes

10/20/2009 Update: More shoes and handbags from the Jimmy Choo for H&M line over here.

I’m positively purring over news that H&M is doing their first accessories brand collaboration with none other than Jimmy Choo!  Hello, Lover!!! The footwear will run from $99 to $129 for boots, with high-end models topping $299 (a bargain when you consider that Choos can go for $600+).   Handbags will be priced from $59.95 to $299. And there’s even a clothing line which will complement the accessories.  The clothing line will have $69.95 tank tops and $249 suede one-shoulder dresses.  Oh yeah, there’s also a men’s line of shoes and accessories, but I digress…

Thanksgiving feast is coming early because the Jimmy Choo for H&M collection will be available starting November 14th.  It will only be in 200 stores across the world (please, please let one of them be in Seattle).

Two shoes from the Jimmy Choo for H&M collection.  The zebra pattern reminds me of Manolo’s Sedarby shoe featured in SATC
