Pretty In Python, But It Can’t Be Shipped to California

posted by: freePOrnaoa in Lanvin Shoes

Hello, Bow-Toe!

Lanvin’s Bow-Toe Python Slingback is the perfect late summer shoe that will transition into fall.

This 2.5-inch heel with an elastic slingback has a slightly atypical python print. The python seems to be slightly stretched out or elongated, as if someone had pulled it around the length of the shoe.

Compared to today’s high, high heels, this height of 2.5 inches is starting to look like a kitten heel.

A note: Python items cannot be sold or shipped to the state of California. What a bummer for the Californians!

Do you think python should be outlawed because it is endangered, or are you an angry fashionista in California who wants her python?

Lanvin Draped-Chain T-Strap Sandal

posted by: freePOrnaoa in Lanvin Shoes

I am a really big fan of Lanvin, especially the Rose Sandal, but is this not creepy?

I feel like the draped chains ont he vamp strap look like dangling skeleton fingers.

Love the grosgrain ribbon, and the creative engineering here, but I just can’t get down with that creepy chain. I think they’re trying to be glam-meets-edgy, but it just doesn’t work here.

If they had ended the chain right where the leather strap is and made it a brighter alloy, I probably would have spent the rest of the week lusting after this. I guess they’ve saved me some time!

A Little Lacy Loveliness from Lanvin

Lanvin Jeweled Sandal

Sometimes, I just want a shoe that’s really girly. I want something feminine and flirty and sexy and sweet all in one. When I am in that kind of mood, Lanvin is one of my go-to brands; they do girly in beautiful ways, and manage to make fun femininity the height of haute couture as well. Lanvin’s Jeweled Sandals ($995 at Barneys) are a gorgeous, absolutely stunning example of that.

Now, on the one hand, even I am willing to admit that there is a lot going on here. I mean, there is a whole lot going on with these sandals. At the same time, I don’t know, I think it works. Am I wrong here? Because I’ll also admit that I am sometimes wrong about things like this, and am also prone to thinking that too much is actually just enough. (more…)

Lanvin Heeled Leather Ballerina Pumps

Lanvin Heeled Leather Ballerina Pumps

In the same way I love the Sigerson Morrison brand, I love Lanvin as well. As I think I have mentioned before, ballet flats are not my favorite shoes. I like some of them, because some of them are really cute, but for the most part, I’ll be totally honest, I get sick of seeing them. And then along comes Lanvin, turning the trend on its head – or its heel, if you prefer. With, in fact, the addition of a heel. I’m not terribly in love with the color of these Heeled Leather Ballerina Pumps ($290 at Net-a-Porter), but I am definitely digging the style.

Lanvin has single handedly solved the problem I have with most ballet flats. That problem, of coures, is the fact that there is little support to be had, so many of them can be awful for the arches if you wear them a lot. With the simple addition of a modest heel, Lanvin has taken care of that.

These ballerina pumps are simple but stylish. (more…)

Lanvin Hightop Cap Toe Sneaker

Lanvin Hightop Cap Toe Sneaker

So, color me just delighted.  Lanvin is known for a lot of different styles, but I never thought I’d see the day when I’d see the brand come up with such a cool take on an old favorite.  See, I’m a fan of hightops.  Old school Converse are my favorites and probably always will be, so as you might imagine, I’m a purist with a rabid opinion of the many Converse duplicates floating around out there.  But I will say loudly and proudly that I think Lanvin’s Hightop Cap Toe Sneaker ($389 at Barneys) is a worthy usurper of the Chuck Taylor throne.

These sneakers are just adorable, not to mention highly stylish. (more…)
