Casadei’s Sparkling Champagne Dream Shoes

I could wax on for days about these shoes. Adjectives such as fabulous, elegant, breathtaking, and more come trippingly off my tongue when confronted with this much concentrated shoe perfection. Shoes like these make me want to get married all over again just for the opportunity to wear them at least once.

Well, that’s quite enough of a lapse into hyperbole for the time being. I could go on all day; instead let me distill my mental stew of adjectives into the following statement:

Oh, look! Pretty!

Charlotte Olympia Orient Express Bootie

posted by: Shomore in Charlotte Olympia

I know it’s Wednesday and even though the week is half over, you need a little extra umpph to get you through the rest of the week.

So how about these eye-popping, beautiful to look at but impractical for my lifestyle fantasy heels by Charlotte Olympia?  Dubbed the Orient Express, these might not be shoes that I’d like to take a ride in.  Yet, anyone walking in these vibrant teal heels will certainly be able to rise to a special occasion in the 5.5 inch heels and show off their fancy feathers, literally.  Even the peacock head at the cap toe is a conversation piece.

The Charlotte Olympia Orient Express is available for £935 on her website.

Charlotte Olympia Avalon Sandal

posted by: Shomore in Charlotte Olympia

Be still my gentle heart.   Charlotte Olympia’s Avalon sandal is not as mythical as the name implies.  It will soon be available as part of Charlotte Olympia’s Spring 2012 collection.  Until then, you can swoon at this gawk-worthy artwork with me.  Yes, artwork.  How can you not admire the intricately designed heel.   The sandal is complemented by the black vamp, which  is appropriately simple so that it does not detract from the elegant heel. And yet this creation actually looks rather sturdy with a thick heel, a platform, and ankle straps for support.  Readers, if anyone ends up purchasing or trying on this shoe, please let us know what you think.

2011 Sexiest Shoe According to Saks and FN

Counter clockwise from top left: Valentino, Jimmy Choo, Prada, Chrissy Morris

The results of a contest conducted by Saks Fifth Ave and Footwear News are in.  After tabulating results from 35k voters, the Sexiest Shoe for 2011 is a beige lace embroidered Valentino pump!   Rounding out the top 4, Jimmy Choo’s Swarovski crystal sandals took second place, Prada came in third with knee-high high heeled leather boots.  Finally, Chrissie Morris stepped into fourth position with black art deco ankle boots.

Not that I don’t love the femininity of Valentino’s lace peep toe but rather I’m just surprised it earned the top mark.  It’s more girly than sexy to me.  And who isn’t a little surprised that Christian Louboutin, last’s year’s winner,  isn’t even amongst the top 4?

Jimmy Choo Icon Shoes

posted by: Shomore in Jimmy Choo Shoes

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Jimmy Choo, the designer shoe brand is releasing a time capsule of 15 defining shoes from their archives.  Each shoe is being reimaged for modern times but retain many of the design elements that made the shoe a signature piece.  One of my favorites from the Jimmy Choo Icons collection is the teal feathered Rita feather shoe.    For Sex and the City fans, you’ll recall the Spring 1998 shoe from the SATC episode where Carrie runs after the ferry crying “Wait, I lost my Choo!”

The complete Jimmy Choo Icons collection is available for viewing on their website.
