Prada’s Pretty Patent Scrunch Sneakers Sizzle
posted by: designer in Prada & MiuMiu Shoes
There are several reasons Prada is such a classic staple in the fashion world. Prada is sort of like Zeus in the hierarchy of gods, or at least the brand ranks up there as royalty. Because of its firm reputation, it can take a lot of risks and veer off the beaten path of what you expect from the brand. If you ask me, Prada’s Patent Scrunch Sneakers ($117.99-$295.00 at Saks) are definitely different from the normal style of should you might expect.
Now, the name itself suggests that this shoe is different. Scrunch sneakers? Huh? Patent leather sneakers? Come again, please? Naturally, the Prada logo is prominent. (more…)
Ask the ShoeBlogger: Angelina Jolie’s Boots

Reader Lindsay was interested in finding out the designer of Angelina Jolie’s boots. Angie’s been wearing them while directing her first feature film in Budapest.
Answer: We’ve been oogling over these rugged chic boots ourselves due to their unique Y shaped buckle detail and only wish they had a side zip. Prada makes this lug-sole motorcycle boot (Available at Saks for $850).
Prada Spring 2011 Shoes

Nope, you aren’t watching a Tim Burton movie in technicolor or reading a Dr. Seuss book. Miuccia Prada opted for bold, vibrant colors for Prada’s spring/summer 2011 collection. To match the upbeat blend of tango/ flamenco music from the runway, even prim and proper cutout lace up oxfords were taken to new heights with multi-colored, rubber-soled sneaker-like soles. My favorite? Of the numerous woven mary-jane shoes with checkered heels sent down the runway, I love the one in blue and white (bottom middle) the best. If Prada’s shoes don’t jump start the dreary weather, at least the colors will.

Miu Miu Metal Flower Pump

I love shoes with feminine details. Miu Miu’s Metal Flower Pump ($990 at Saks) has all the girly trimmings – love the metal floral arrangement including the detailed stamens and the bow, while silver toned, still looks rather delicate. Unfortunately, topped off with the silvertone cap toe, Miu Miu’s shoe is just too over accessorized for my tastes. I’d go for any 2 / 3 of these accessories, but not all of them as currently presented.
End of Season Shoe Sales

Pre-fall 2010 shoes have begun to arrive in department stores. For the non-retail shopper in me that translates into sales on the spring/summer collection to make room for the new footwear. Most department stores discount their merchandise in June and started pre-sales in May so much of the selection has already been reserved, but it never hurts to see what you’ll find in stores. Here are some of my favorites:
At Nordstroms, our contact tells us most of the Louboutins have already been sold. That’s okay by me. I’m crushing over these Miu Miu jeweled flats (the picture is in tan but if you like dark rose they are on sale for $355 (originally $595).
Nordstroms also a Chanel thong in silver (picture is to demonstrate the silhouette only) on sale for $339, down from $575. Sizes are extremely limited. If you are interested in finding out which cruise/summer styles on on sale, please email us at admin@shoeblog.com or our Nordstroms SA Henry at hirbod74@yahoo.com.
Not to be outdone, Net-A-Porter has 5 pages worth of sale shoes.
These beautiful Alexander McQueen strappies, which Sarah Jessica Parker wore on the press circuit for the SATC2 movie, are on sale for 40% off or $555.

Net-A-Porter even has a pair of Louboutins, the Miss Chief on sale for 50% off or $400.
Barneys.com also has a few decent shoe sales as well. But be forewarned, I’ve had orders cancelled due to lack of inventory. These square toed Lanvin pumps with ankle strap are now $414, down from over $1000.
Happy shoe shopping everyone! And for those of you who do find a great shoe, please share with us over on the forums. We promise not to have too much shoe envy.
