Brian Atwood’s Maniac

So I was channel surfing last night and saw Kaley Cuoco on David Letterman. She was wearing these gorgeous purple suede pumps and a little black dress. I couldn’t focus on what she was saying because I kept watching to see if the camera would show her shoes. Here is a photo as she is leaving the Ed Sullivan Theater, covering the LBD with a satin trench. Wonderful look. Love the shiny trench, love the matte shoes.
The shoes are from the Brian Atwood’s 2009/2010 Fall Winter collection. How beautiful are these shoes? There are about 6 color variations of this shoe.
Now, I could not find any online but I found some platform pumps that are available online. A few of you have said you have given up on suede because it is discouraging to have your shoes ruined in the weather, so I included a few smooth leather shoes.
Jessica Simpson Parigi $89 at Zappos
I bought a pair of emergency Parigi’s last April. They are indeed high; they are indeed dramatic; they do indeed show toe cleavage. They are comparable to other shoes that are the same price.
BCBGeneration Dania $89 at Zappos
Stuart Weitzman Swoon $298 at Endless
and DKNY Hina $140 at Endlless
Notice the thicker heel here, offering better stability. It has a heel that is about 3 inches so it could be a good work shoe.
Fashion’s Night Out

Last night, in conjunction with New York Fashion week, was Fashion’s Night Out. Anna Wintour was a key player in the organization of this event. I have read mixed reactions about it. One blog said that there was a lot of people, but not many purchases were made, that taxies, on the other hand, were the winners of the evening. Another blogger said the night was, a “huge success, bravo Ms. Wintour.” This post just shows who was doing what last night.
The photos show a lot of people on the streets and in the stores, mostly spectators photographing celebrities, notice this is what is happening in the photo of Beth Ostrosky.
Here is Rhianna at the World of Giuseppe Zanotti boutique. Trying a little hard there, Rhianna?
It looked like a model was doing yoga in a display area. These boots are wedges, the outer edge has lattice cutouts while the inside edge is solid. Pretty cool.
This is Stuart and Jane Weitman at their boutique.
The shoe display at SW.
Camilla Belle, Nacho Figueras, Blake Lively and David Lauren at the Ralph Lauren Women’s store on Bleecker Ave. I noticed Ms Lively’s boots are probably the only boots on the street that are not black booties. I love both Camilla and Blake’s shoes.
Victoria Beckham posing to beat the band at Bergdorf Goodman. Giuseppi Zanotti is at the edge of the photo, wearing white Nikes. I love it.
Edited: Just for Shomore: This is Michelle Tractenberg, Designer Zanotti, Katy Perry and Rachel Bilson in World of Giuseppe Zanotti botique. He had been signing shoes all night long which explains the markers in his hand.
This is why ya gotta love New York.
The goal of Fashion’s Night Out was to encourage consumers to buy things. I am not sure if that goal was achieved, but it looks like everyone had a grand time.
Shoe Showdown: Stuart Weitzman Tijuana Sandals
posted by: Shomore in Celebrity Shoe Style, Stuart Weitzman Shoes
Okay ladies and gents, who accessoried these sexy bondage, strappy sandals dubbed ‘Tijuana’ by Stuart Weitzman the best?
Is it Anna Faris at the SXSW premiere of Observe & Report, model Camilla Alves on the green Malibu carpet, Emma Rossum at the New Museum event in NY, or Hayden Panettiere while visiting the Letterman show?
Promise me that you’ll make a mental note to not reward any brownie points to Camilla Alves for having Matthew McConaughey on her arms (I know, it’s hard right?). I’ve got to say that I love the lacy dress on Hayden and the glittery shoulder from Anna. For Emma, the shoes are a departure from the sweet and classy shoes she normally wears so I have to give her props for that. In the end though, I can’t decide with celebrity wore the best outfit with Stu’s Tijuanas. So tell me, what do you think?
The Stuart Weitzman Tijuana shoe can be purchased in black, walnut, or almond for $261 at Endless.com.

Stuart Weitzman Peepers Pump
posted by: Shomore in Celebrity Shoe Style, Stuart Weitzman Shoes
Regulars of this blog will know that I’m a sucker for heel details. I love it when a classic pump is embellished with details on the heel – it’s still very elegant, glam, but utterly unique. I was already a fan of Stuart Weitzman “Peepers” when I first saw them featured on Zappos for $575. However, I *really* had to exercise sheer non-purchasing willpower when I saw them featured today on Gilt Groupe for half off – $278 instead of $575. Will you exercise such restraint?
If the Weitzman’s Peepers looks familiar, per MTV, they are the same ones featured in Beyonce’s Ego video. I assume that Beyonce had the shoes re-soled so they were less slippery, but how she manages to dance so ferociously in Stuart’s shoes with such skinny heels is beyond me. I could probably manage a few hundred yard and back if I’m lucky in these shoes. My admiration for Beyonce just went up a few notches. Sigh, what we women will do to look good.
Update: They are now $135 on Amazon!
Saturday Sales Highlight: Stuart Weitzman at 6pm.com

Not that it isn’t obvious from my blogging history, but I can’t seem go for more than a week without checking my favorite bargain sites to see what is new and affordable (comparatively speaking).
So, after a quick window-shopping hop over to 6pm.com, I wanted to share a few of the many Stuart Weitzman styles to be had at at this shoe-discounter extraordinaire:

Stuart Weitzman ‘Yeti’ (perfectly named!) $292.50 $575, in lama (shown) or black suede.
I am not completely certain how I feel about the recent proliferation of fuzzy-shafted knee boots. But, with snow predicted – Again! – this week, I am drawn to anything halfway sexy that also looks toasty warm. Plus, the platform on these is reminiscent of styling seen on shoes from Giambatista Valli (though this is a less extreme platform) , which are anything but drab.

Stuart Weitzman Ribbon-tie ‘Charleston’ sandals $146.25 $285 in Red or Black.
I have difficulty wearing styles with a separate D’orsay toe style due to the width of my foot at the instep. Nevertheless, I am continually drawn to these oh-so-sexy open and strappy styles. This sandal is just so feminine that it will never truly be out of style. Ribbons are such a classic and flirty touch.

Stuart Weitzman ‘Sashay’ $143.91 $285 in Blue Degrade Patent.
What can I say? This is a classic peep-toe in a stunning electric-blue ombre. The ombre/degrade color shift is just the thing to match every piece of blue in my closet. Lovely.
And really, where would I be if I didn’t mention Oxfords? I know there are folks out there who hate the current Oxford trend. I, on the other hand, continue to look for Oxford variations with which to stock my closet. For, one thing I have learned: If you love a trend, it is better to stock up on styles that you love and will wear – while they are still around – than live with regret for 15 years wating for the style wheel to spin its way back around again.

Stuart Weitman ‘Valleygal’ $135.72 $265, in Linen/Black Cayman Croc (Size 9 0nly).
Let’s just say this is not your innocent schoolgirl’s Oxford. The croc-patterned leather gives this a nice touch of grown up minx for either work or play.

Stuart Weitzman ‘Hartford’ $153.27 $305,size 10 only.
This is an Oxford bootie that has just a touch of Mod appeal in it’s reverse-spectator styling. Too bad they no longer have this graphic cutie in my size.
So, 6pm.com currently has a great range of styles available for any Stuart Weitzman fans out there. As always, have fun browsing…or buying, as the case may be.
Happy Saturday, folks!
