Versace for H&M Shoes
posted by: Shomore in Versace Shoes
The Versace for H&M line is set to debut on November 17th. The clothing is distinctly Versace, that is flashy with bold patterns and color. But I have to say I’m less than impressed with the shoes in the collection. I understand that the pink and black patent strap sandals need to be fairly simple to pair with the outfits in the collection (see below) but it would be nice to see something a bit more crazy and signature Versace about them. I’m also hard pressed to think that many gentlemen will go for the pink men’s dress shoes. What about you? Are you interested in anything from the Versace x H&M collection?

SS12 Fashion Week Footwear: Milanese Mixed Bag

One of the things I love about the international merry-go-round of Fashion Week is that each country and the designers who show there offers up some overall style trends that can always be counted on to give that land its particular flavor. New York’s is the most malleable, but tends to be pretty slick and sleek, as I think you can see from our many NYC Fashion Week posts.
London’s got a cheekiness to it, typified by Acne’s shoes that took standard loafer elements and sent them through some Alice in Wonderland quirks of size and proportion.
And Milan… Milan likes to push the envelope with glam and over-the-top.
Sometimes it’s in subtle ways like the playfully sculpted heels at the Bottega Veneta show.
Sometimes it’s like a BeDazzler got to them, like these No 21 pumps (talk about shoes for a New Year’s Eve party).
But just as often, Milan’s shows could be used to define OTT, like these Versace hoofers that are due to show up on Lady Gaga’s tootsies any day now.
Or these Blumarine offerings that look like someone drank a couple bottles of smooth Italian red, found the appliqué machine and went wild.
Taking the cake for Milanese excess this season, though, has got to be Missoni, who sent a flutter of flowers down the runway in bright plastics and large scale and mixed materials and clear heels and just about every other element they could possible cram in there.
Brava, Italia, for keeping the fun in Fashion Week.
Metallic Madness: Versace’s Strappy Ankle Boots

First off, happy New Year! I hope y’all are as excited about seeing what 2011 has to offer in fabulous footwear as I am!
Of the many things I love about Versace, the brand’s ability to create classy shoes out of the more flamboyant trends is pretty high up there. I am a huge fan of metallic shoes, but there are times when they just look really bad. Playing with metallic designs is a risky game because it is so easy to go really overboard. In my (not so) humble opinion, however, the Versace Metallic Strappy Platform Ankle Boots ($765.99 at Saks) does it just right.
If you keep up with the latest trends, then you probably know that the winter months of 2011 will be devoted to metallics, in shoes, clothing, and accessories – but I am far more concerned with the shoes. (more…)
Versace’s Vibrant Color-Blocked Ankle Boots

It definitely feels like winter around here. Sure, it’s still officially fall according to my wall calendar. But, when I wake up to snow flurries, I know that winter has firmly taken over and fall has sadly become a mere technicality. (more…)
Milan Spring 2010 Fashion Week: Platform Sandals

Earlier this year, André Leon Talley of Vogue was heard remarking that he was “over the mania of the high, high heel”. On the Milan Spring 2010 runways, it’s really unapparent that designers took André’s word to heart. The shoes were still soaring and high, abetted by one and two inch platforms.
Strappy Fendi Sandals for Spring 2010: My favorite part of these wraparound Fendi sandals were the rose-hued clear platform.
Gucci Spring 2010 Heels: Futuristic, sexy bondage heels appeared to be the theme on Gucci’s runway.
Versace Spring 2010 Fantasy Land Shoes: Donatella Versace’s Spring Collection was said to be inspired by the upcoming Alice in Wonderland movie from Tim Burton. This must explain the medley of playful polka dot, geometric, and pastel prints.
