Happy St. Patrick’s Day Folks!

Are you wearing your green today? I certainly wouldn’t want to see anybody getting pinched. And why is it that this is one habit that most so-called adults that I’ve known have never outgrown?  There really are few things less dignified than adults being gleefully pinched by coworkers. Oh well ….

I’m wearing my green …. My kids made certain of that. My outfit today is primarily courtesy of my four-year old son’s foray into my closet this morning. Given that knowledge, it is not nearly as cartoonish an ensemble as one might imagine.

So, in the theme of green, here are a few earthy-green shoes for your consideration:

Boots:

French Connection ‘Holly’ $146.25 $298 at 6pm.com

Booties:

Dolce Vita ‘5173-18′ $88.92 $167 at 6pm.com

Low Sandals:

Everybody by BZ Moda ‘Opal’ in Avocado $179.95 at Endless.com

And Heels:

Exchange by Charles David ‘Web’ $52.65 $99 at 6pm.com

Heels:

Kors by Michael Kors ‘Talulah’ $249 at Zappos.com

And more Heels:

Pour La Victoire ‘Pascale’ $319.99 at Heels.com

As for me, I am wearing my patiently stalked Pour La Victoire ‘Penelope’ oxfords - which I picked up on clearance at Amazon last Fall:

How about you? How do you show your holiday green?

Via Spiga Oil Slick ‘Trudy’ Pumps

Posted by galligator in High heels, Hot Shoe Deals and Steals, Pumps, Spot the Shoe on Sale, Via Spiga Shoes

I am looking at the following shoe from Via Spiga and trying to decide how I feel about the coloring of the patent-leather finish.

‘Trudy’ Cap-Toe Pump in Black Petrol @ Endless.com, 6pm.com & Smartbargains.com

‘Petrol’ is definitely an accurate description for the opalescent coloring on the patent leather of this shoe. Admittedly, I am intrigued at how the swirling colors of spilled gasoline seem to have been captured in the glossy shoe surface.

But, I am not sure yet if I like it.

And, I think it may be because of this: The image of spilled gasoline inevitably evokes in me the memory, including the smells, of filling up my car’s fuel tank at the self-service lane of local gas stations on hot summer days. And, the smell of gasoline on a hot and muggy summer day is anything but pleasant.

However, to have this illusion on a shoe, maybe I could manage to train myself away from that automatic and not entirely positive experience of olfactory memory association.

After all, the subtle and almost hypnotic color variations would make this a surprising alternative to the little black pump - while still managing to match almost any color in one’s wardrobe.

So, what do you think?

Piperlime Sale

Posted by shoesense in Flats, Hollywould Shoes, Hot Shoe Deals and Steals, Kenzo, Piperlime, Sandals, Via Spiga Shoes

If I hadn’t been busy the other day ordering this Badgley Mischka patent clutch from Bloomingdales (don’t bother, it’s sold out by now):

… I would have totally been on top of the latest Piperlime sale.  I’m a bona fide, certified sales whore (that clutch you see? with the extra 30% off discount Bloomingdales is having these days for certain items, it came down to about 1/2 its regular price of almost $300, plus there was free shipping involved AND I REALLY REALLY NEEDED AN EVENING CLUTCH, so there)–anyway, my point is, this is the time of the year when I turn into a fast and furious shopper. So, if it hadn’t been for that purchase, I would have totally bought this preppy, refreshing Hollywould “Salma” skimmer, now priced $130, which saves you $320 from its original price of $450:

Or I could have easily bought this adorable Kenzo scalloped flat, in burgundy or black-and-white, down to $87 from $290:

…but I’m afraid my fashion budget is shot for the month. Those are some great deals, though, and I hope you guys will take advantage (there are more fabulous options out there, so browse away).

If these prices persist, though, I might just come back next month and snatch this trendy Via Spiga “Undo” giraffe-print sandal, now $90 (down from $165):

Happy bargain hunting, shoe-lovers!
