The patent animal print is a fun change from hair on hide that was shown in the Pre-Fall shows.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day Folks!
Are you wearing your green today? I certainly wouldn’t want to see anybody getting pinched. And why is it that this is one habit that most so-called adults that I’ve known have never outgrown? There really are few things less dignified than adults being gleefully pinched by coworkers. Oh well ….
I’m wearing my green …. My kids made certain of that. My outfit today is primarily courtesy of my four-year old son’s foray into my closet this morning. Given that knowledge, it is not nearly as cartoonish an ensemble as one might imagine.
So, in the theme of green, here are a few earthy-green shoes for your consideration:
And more Heels:
As for me, I am wearing my patiently stalked Pour La Victoire ‘Penelope’ oxfords – which I picked up on clearance at Amazon last Fall:

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. And, whether you have a romantic evening planned with your honey, or are having a single gal’s ‘stag’ evening – any excuse to ogle red, hot, sexy shoes is okay in my book.
So, let’s start with some sweet floral shoes that look like romantic bouquets:
Moving on to wearing your heart for everyone to see (though on your feet, not on your sleeve):
Well, whatever your Saturday has in store for you, there’s always room for another pair of fabulous red shoes in any gal’s closet:
Oh, and if you are one of those ladies who doesn’t yet own a pair of red heels – What are you waiting for? Red is an absolutely fabulous wardrobe neutral that simply exudes confidence from the ground up.
I am looking at the following shoe from Via Spiga and trying to decide how I feel about the coloring of the patent-leather finish.
‘Petrol’ is definitely an accurate description for the opalescent coloring on the patent leather of this shoe. Admittedly, I am intrigued at how the swirling colors of spilled gasoline seem to have been captured in the glossy shoe surface.
But, I am not sure yet if I like it.
And, I think it may be because of this: The image of spilled gasoline inevitably evokes in me the memory, including the smells, of filling up my car’s fuel tank at the self-service lane of local gas stations on hot summer days. And, the smell of gasoline on a hot and muggy summer day is anything but pleasant.
However, to have this illusion on a shoe, maybe I could manage to train myself away from that automatic and not entirely positive experience of olfactory memory association.
After all, the subtle and almost hypnotic color variations would make this a surprising alternative to the little black pump – while still managing to match almost any color in one’s wardrobe.
So, what do you think?
It may be a madhouse, but Shoe Mania in Union Square in New York was a goldmine when I visited it last week. To be found were Via Spiga, Steve Madden, Frye, Michael Kors and others galore. All sales final. 50 percent crazy sale, indeed!
