Casadei’s Geometric Heels: Shoe Deja-Vu

I love intricate or carved heel details on shoes. So, it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that I’ve been pining over Casadei’s 2010 fall line of boots & pumps with their delightfully-geometric, devilishly high, drop-dead gorgeous heels.

I mean, look at these! What’s not to love?

Designer Shoe Deja Vu: Giuseppi Zanotti vs. Vince Camuto

Sometimes you encounter a style and just know you’ve seen it before.

Compare this:

Vince Camuto ‘Wendy’ Sandal $118.95 at Endless.com & $120 at Zappos.com

To this:

Giuseppe Zanotti I90265 $750 $357 at Zappos.com & $412.50 at Endless.com

The differences between these are minor, but noticeable when comparing them side by side.  Which ones do you prefer: the originals from Zanotti, or the near-copies from Camuto?

Also, how do you feel about designer inspired styles that are near-knockoffs of higher-end designers?  Such styles are legal at this time as long as no trademarks from the original design are copied onto the lower-end style – but should we demand more creativity from mid-end brands who can probably afford to invest in more original design talent rather than resorting to being runway copyists?

*I should note that a lot of Camuto designs are not so imitative. I love the brand, in fact, because they have been some of the best-fitting heels I have found for my arch height and shape.

Dillards Boot & Shoe Sale

If you have not yet had your fill of post-Christmas and New Years Day sales, Dillard’s has you covered on affordable shoe fashion.

In addition to today’s Boot Sale, they also have other styles of shoes on sale at 40% off as well.

Some eye-catching options in boots for you to consider:

This first boot just brings to mind the thought of sipping hot cocoa and having cozy conversation with the family in front of a warm fire.

Jessica Simpson ‘Mazzey’ $83.94 $139.

With the quilted fabric and patent contrast, this next one still looks cozy, but has a hint of edge.

Calvin Klein ‘Diamond’ $96.00 $160.

This one is all straps and buckle. Super sexy… but the warm brown tones keep it from being too in-your-face and helps keep it’s edge on the more subtle side.

Calvin Klein ‘Peg’ $89.40 $149

This one (aptly named) has a definite Western vibe. Cute for the gal who loves showing that she’s ‘A Little Bit Country’.

Reba ‘Blaze’ $59.40 $99.00.

Next, generous fringe for the Boho-Chic Moccasin lover.

Guess ‘Rami’ $135.00 $225

Next, throwing me back again to a 1980′s Janet Jackson vibe, are these sexy, kidskin, ‘marching band’ boots.

Antonio Melani ‘Mirabelle’ $118.80 $198

And, from my favorite Project Runway judge, a straight-up, unapologetically sexy, black leather boot:

Michael Kors/Michael ‘Lattington’ $178.80 $298

As for the shoe and sandal selection? Well, my attention was stolen by some fantastic Vince Camuto Styles. Too bad New Years Eve is already over … Wowza.

Vince Camuto ‘Palmer’ $62.50 $125

Vince Camuto ‘Nell’ $65.00 $130

Vince Camuto ‘Greene’ $65.00 $130

Vince Camuto ‘Nora’ $65.00 $130

I don’t know how long the sales prices are good until … So, hop on over & take a look to see if there is a perfect shoe deal to ring in your New Year.

Vince Camuto Flat Oxford Sandals

posted by: shoesense in Flats, Piperlime, Sandals, Vince Camuto Shoes

I was complaining at some point about the lack of flat oxford choices for women like me who don’t want to be bothered with high heels. Pickings are slim, but this Vince Camuto “Alba” flat ($110 at Piperlime) comes as close as can be for the time being to what I’m looking for.  There is a black version, but it’s definitely blah; this one is a vivacious red with a subtle gold stripe at the heel and generous cutouts. I’d say…this is about 80% there. Almost handsome but not quite pretty, bur definitely interesting and going in the right direction.
