Alexander McQueen’s Laser Cut Moto Boot
posted by: brianka in Alexander McQueen Shoes
In what has, over the last several seasons, become a recognizably signature silhouette for the McQueen shoe line, we have another presentation of the Alexander McQueen Moto boot:
Alexander McQueen Laser Cut Moto Boot $1725 at Nordstrom.com
In ‘Jasmine/Ivory’ toned laser-cut leather, this ankle bootie is decadent, while still having rocker-chic attitude. Yesterday, all sizes were available at Nordstrom. Today, they are down to sizes 36 & 39.5. While I will keep my eyes out for any future retailers who might begin offering these, they are selling out quickly. So, if you can’t live without these (and can fit into the aforementioned sizes 36 or 39.5) – grab them while you’ve still got a chance.

The Alexander McQueen label continues to produce elegant, edgy, and occasionally, over-the-top shoes.
The prior McQueen shoes we have seen this spring have been firmly in the over-the-top category; what better descriptive comes to mind when looking at these gilt-adorned wedges?
However, the same basic, flowing, lines we saw on the McQueen sculptural wedges have been reduced to the bare essentials to produce a darkly-elegant court shoe:
These are, in a word: Lovely.
Runway to Retail: Alexander McQueen Floral Wedges

Sometimes more isn’t always better, sometimes it’s just more.*
…On the other hand, sometimes more is fabulous. And, I say, bring it on.
You do remember these ornately-carved, gilt-bedecked shoe-confections that the McQueen label, under the creative direction of Sarah Burton, showed us for their Spring 2011 McQueen runway, don’t you?
Of course you do.
Well, if you have been saving your pennies, you might be able to grab yourself a pair of these decadent darlings (or perhaps the matching clutch?). Although, at a $1995 pre-order for the clutch (available in black or gold) and $3495 for the wedged sandals, these babies will run you quite the hefty bag of pennies indeed.
Alexander McQueen Skull Ballet Flat

Typically, because I am very, very short, I stay away from ballet flats. They tend to make me look even shorter and a little stumpy around the leg area, which is definitely not a good look for me. However, Alexander McQueen could make me a fan of anything. His designs are going to live on forever in his memory, in my (not so) humble opinion, and one reason is because of his daring aesthetic. Even now, his skull inspired shoes – like his Skull Flat in Black/White ($297 at Zappos) – are still all the rage, and form the central accent for any number of his shoes.
I’m a little morbid sometimes, which may go a long way toward explaining why I think these are awesome. (more…)
Alexander McQueen Faithful Cutout Ankle Boots

As you can see, I’m on a bit of a boot kick lately. Normally I’d apologize for that, except I can’t be at all apologetic for stumbling across these Faithful Cutout Ankle Boots ($930 at Saks) from Alexander McQueen.
I hardcore mourned Alexander’s untimely passing, so it makes me really happy when I see that his designs and incomparable aesthetic are still thriving. These boots scream McQueen and make it easy to understand why he was such a stylish, edgy, and altogether awesome trendsetter.
Do you know why these speak to me? (more…)
