Chanel Shoe Window Shopping

Posted by Shomore in Chanel Shoes

As I mentioned, last month I had relatives in town. As the dutiful niece and family-assigned tour guide (my mom doesn’t like driving on the freeways), it was my job to show my aunt a good time on Rodeo Drive.

First up, we went to the newly redesigned Chanel Store in Beverly Hills. Sure, these window displays look ever so casually thrown together but I’m sure every wrinkle on that sequin dress and the angular tilt on the beautiful nude Chanel d’orsays were well planned.

Even for Chanel, I’ve never be a big fan of tweed. The material is simply too thick and I don’t like the pattern.

Okay, maybe tweed accents like the ones on these tall Chanel boots are okay.

Chanel shows that splats are back.

Of all the shoes on display, my favorite were these Chanel pink bow-tie pumps. They are ever so feminine and delicate, no?

Chanel Boots

I think I just had a mini-orgasm:

Oh, to be clad in these majestic boots, with a jeweled bracket gently embracing the heel, lifting you up to the world of the well, no, make it exceptionally well-heeled. You’d be untouchable. Frankly, I’m not sure what more you could possibly want from life.

The Chanel boots from the Paris Monte Carlo collection are $3,600 at Bergdorf Goodman (regrettably, no available online.)

The folks over at Style.com have rounded up their favorite accessories for the holiday season, and of course, some divine shoes are on the list.  Some of them, like this Alessandro dell’Acqua platform and this Chloe “ski boot”, you may remember from the recent catwalks.

Some just scream hobnobbing at a party with the fashion elite, like this playful Bruno Frisoni slingback.

Some are begging you to dance the night away in a club with a light up dance floor.  See this retro Chanel number.

Some, like this gorgeous Christian Dior spectator and spat-inspired Ralph Lauren, are begging for a Great Gatsby themed holiday party.

Some scream down-to-earth funky chic, like this flat from Proenza Schouler.

Chanel mixes things up at the Paris Spring ‘08 Fashion Week

Posted by Shomore in Chanel Shoes, Fashion Week

The one consistent shoe theme at the Chanel Paris Spring 2008 runway was the absence of a single style / trend. With the myriad of shoe styles on display, it looks like Karl Lagerfield was trying to appeal to the shoe lover in one way or another.

Shoe Style#1) Silver is the new gold. My personal favorite is the reversed tiered patent pump.

Shoe style #2) Subtlety is out, logos are in. I’m actually rather fond of this classic black pump, especially when compared to these over the top massive YSLed pumps. Visually, I also like how the Chanel CC logo breaks up the heel into two pieces, creating the illusion of a floating short heel.

Shoe Style #3) Not quite sure what to call this…what about an ankle purse, purse anklet, or ankle fanny pack? Have the incarcerations and subsequent police ankle bracelets worn on Martha Stewart and Missy Elliot created a new trend?

Shoe Style #4) Show your patriotism in red, white and blue shoes. Hopefully, you’ll lose the Chanel ankle purse.

Still haven’t found anything that fancies you? How about any of these Chanel shoes?

This Week in Shoes

Posted by jitterbugbaby in Celebrity Shoe Style, Chanel Shoes, Christian Louboutin Shoes, This week in shoes

Here’s a roundup of this week’s shoe news items.

Chanel’s famous two-toned shoe turns 50.  Always keeping the enterprising business woman in mind, these shoes can match multiple outfits.  So smart, Coco!

Everyon’s seen shoefiti, right?  Shoes tied together with their laces hanging over power lines.  Where does that trend come from?  Well, there have been lots of ideas and theories, and they’re all discussed in this article.

How about a coy Heidi Klum posing for Arena magazine in nothing but her Louboutins.  No full exposure here, though… well, except of the shoes.

Here’s why middle-aged men wear Crocs…

and why you shouldn’t wear them in the hospital.

Diane Von Furstenberg is the queen of the wrap dress… a quick way to look casually elegant.  And now, she’s about to design a line of shoes.  She says ”I wanted to create shoes for the woman on-the-go and always on her feet” and I, for one, can’t wait to see if that’s (hopefully) going to mean some sensible heels and/or flats.

Do you worry about stinky feet?  Especially in summertime when our feet (and the rest of us) sweat more.  Well, worry no more.  Check out Shoe Pure 100.  It’s a funky little Japanese invention that dries out your shoes and looks cool while doing it.

And with that, dear readers, your friendly neighborhood Shoebloggers are off to Las Vegas for the WSA Show and The Collections at WSA, where we will be packing in the booth visits to see what all kinds of companies are coming out with for Spring/Summer 08.  We’ll be back on Wednesday with all kinds of new info and dish on all kinds of new shoes.
