This Week in Shoes

Posted by jitterbugbaby in Celebrity Shoe Style, Chanel Shoes, Christian Louboutin Shoes, This week in shoes

Here’s a roundup of this week’s shoe news items.

Chanel’s famous two-toned shoe turns 50.  Always keeping the enterprising business woman in mind, these shoes can match multiple outfits.  So smart, Coco!

Everyon’s seen shoefiti, right?  Shoes tied together with their laces hanging over power lines.  Where does that trend come from?  Well, there have been lots of ideas and theories, and they’re all discussed in this article.

How about a coy Heidi Klum posing for Arena magazine in nothing but her Louboutins.  No full exposure here, though… well, except of the shoes.

Here’s why middle-aged men wear Crocs…

and why you shouldn’t wear them in the hospital.

Diane Von Furstenberg is the queen of the wrap dress… a quick way to look casually elegant.  And now, she’s about to design a line of shoes.  She says ”I wanted to create shoes for the woman on-the-go and always on her feet” and I, for one, can’t wait to see if that’s (hopefully) going to mean some sensible heels and/or flats.

Do you worry about stinky feet?  Especially in summertime when our feet (and the rest of us) sweat more.  Well, worry no more.  Check out Shoe Pure 100.  It’s a funky little Japanese invention that dries out your shoes and looks cool while doing it.

And with that, dear readers, your friendly neighborhood Shoebloggers are off to Las Vegas for the WSA Show and The Collections at WSA, where we will be packing in the booth visits to see what all kinds of companies are coming out with for Spring/Summer 08.  We’ll be back on Wednesday with all kinds of new info and dish on all kinds of new shoes.

Shoes at the Paris Fall 2007 Couture Shows

Posted by Shomore in Chanel Shoes, Dior Shoes, Shoe Brands

It’s Paris Fashion Week again.  Besides the lovely gowns on full display were some pretty artful shoe creations. Some of the more interesting shoes included:

Christian Dior

These curved platforms really were as uncomfortable as they look. From Style.com’s blog, Karen Mulder, marking her return to the runway (yay!), reported:

When I did runway, they didn’t have shoes like this. They’re insane now.

Chanel

Leather thigh high boots with sequined sides. I wonder how long it took to put these boots on.

Armani Prive

My personal favorite.  These lovely slingbacks with bow accents are glitzy and cute.

Jean Paul Gaultier

New collection: Chanel over-the-knee boots

Posted by shoesense in Boots, Chanel Shoes

chanel-above-the-knee-boots.jpg

Don’t you love this piping hot Chanel over-the-knee boot? I love how the classic Chanel color-combo is preserved in this lean, streamlined design, with the added glamour of the gold heel. Worried that the shaft look way too slim for comfort? Fear not: I think I saw these on the runway and they’re meant to slouch a little. How much do they cost? I’m sure it’s something few mortals with normal budgets can afford. Which doesn’t make these sophisticated boots anything less than fabulous….

trying to snag yourself some runway shoe looks

Posted by jitterbugbaby in Anna Sui Shoes, Boots, Chanel Shoes, Dolce & Gabbana Shoes, Fashion Week, Flats, High heels, Pumps, Stuart Weitzman Shoes

I know some of the runway trends out there have inspired me this week. So, what have I been doing? Trying to find those shoe looks in a place I can buy them. Since I’m not best pals with major designers and can’t ask them for a freebie pair, I’ll have to find my own. And why not share the fruits of my labor with all of you?

If you liked Chanel’s plaid fabric boots…

… try the Ruff by Killah ($111 at Zappos)

If you’re after John Galliano’s vintage platform shoe look…

… try the Cricket Match Spectators ($258 at Anthropologie).

If Anna Sui’s slouchy flat boots are your style…

… go for these Type Z boots ($210 at Zappos).

And if you want a super sexy metallic and animal print stiletto like these from Dolce & Gabbana…

paris fashion week part 2: son of paris fashion week

Posted by jitterbugbaby in Anna Sui Shoes, Balenciaga Shoes, Chanel Shoes, Dior Shoes, Fashion Week, High heels, Mary Janes, Platforms, Pumps

More outlandish shoes brought to you by the runways of Paris.

Balenciaga shoes:

Balenciaga heel

Balenciaga boot

Anna Sui shoes:

Anna Sui purple boot

These look actually quite wearable, and I’d wear them in a heartbeat.

Chanel shoes:

Chanel tweed spat boots

Chanel tweed high boots

Christian Dior shoes:

Christian Dior yellow shoe

Jean Paul Gaultier shoes:

Gaultier plaid Mary Jane

And because I think it’s so beautiful, here’s one of the Byzantine-influenced masks that Gaultier’s models wore down the runway. If only we could get away with these in day to day life.

Another pair of (wearable) boots to die for from Oscar de la Renta:

And finally, some wackiness from Viktor & Rolf:

It looks like we’re in for more of the 19th century vintage look (which I love) with lots of straps and ties. And quite possibly plaids. Let’s see what happens when fall 2007 looks hit the stores.
