Carrie Bradshaw: I really love my Dior Extreme Gladiator Platform Shoes

Posted by Shomore in Dior Shoes, I really love my shoe

Warning: This post contains photos from the upcoming Sex in the City Movie.

Or should I say Patricia Field, the costume designer for SATC, really loves Dior’s Extreme shoes since she’s the one that dressed the character Carrie Bradshaw?

ET Online reported that Sarah Jessica Parker went through 81 wardrobe changes for the SATC movie. If you count the 4 shots below, Sarah Jessica Parker wore the Dior shoes a whopping 5% of the time so I would say this falls in the ‘I really love my shoes’ category for this blog. According to Marene Gustin from ShoeTube everyone is also in love with the peeptoe Dior Extreme gladiator platforms. When she called the local Dior boutique, she got a response of

“Yeah, you’re like the 1,900th person to call about those. They don’t make them anymore and not even the outlets have them.”

Ouch. Luckily, for you fashionistas out there, we’ve spotted the line for you. The Dior Extremes are now available in select sizes at Eluxury for $770. I’m seriously thinking of getting a pair if only to collect them and help me reminiscent about SATC. For those on a more shoestring budget, the knock off pair can be found at ASOS for £55.00. I suspect both Eluxury and ASOS will be out of stock soon.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s: I really love my Givenchy Gladiators

Posted by shoesense in Celebrity Shoe Style, Givenchy Shoes, I really love my shoe

I don’t know if she REALLY REALLY loves them, but how else would you explain her wearing them on two occasions with starkly different results?

Here she is in London, looking chic and appropriate for some event involving British royalty, and giving her outfit a bit of an edge with the über-buckled-strapped-and-grommetted Givenchy gladiator bootie-sandals (sandies? boondals?):

(See Shoebunny’s website for more detailed photos).

And then, disaster strikes: a dowdy dress that does nothing for her lovely figure with an oddly hanging bow, and the gladi-bootie-sandals, cutting into the pale flesh of her stems and making her look like she’s an unwilling participant in bondage:

You can buy a similar (though not identical) style of Givenchy gladiator at Shopbop for, oh, about $1000:

…Just promise me you’ll learn from Gwyneth’s mistake and you’ll wear them wisely!

Cate Blanchett: I Really Love My Nude Louboutins

Posted by jitterbugbaby in Celebrity Shoe Style, Christian Louboutin Shoes, I really love my shoe

There’s no doubt about it. Cate Blanchett is one of the most stylish women out there. She pushes the envelope just a bit, but almost never too far. She always ends up looking unique and 99.99% of the time, completely gorgeous. At last weekend’s Oscars, she made my Best Dressed list regardless of pregnancy.

But just like you and me, she has her favorite shoes, and since she’s fabulous and chic, the shoes are fabulous and chic, too. Louboutins, to be exact (note the excellent silver pair in the above photo, which, now that I’m thinking about it, might take over the Shoeblog Oscar for Best Louboutin that I previously bestowed on Renee Zellweger). Nude Louboutins, to be even more precise.

This patent pair seems to be her #1 go-to choice. Here she is in them at the December 2007 Hollywood premiere of the Good German and at the January 2007 Palm Springs Film Festival.

But there were also these ladylike pleated chiffon peep-toes at the the AFI Awards in Melbourne in December 2006.

And these sexy pumps at the Women in Hollywood gala in September 2006.

Cheers, Cate, on some gorgeous shoe choices. And for the next nude Louboutin, might I suggest these sequin-covered numbers, currently available at Neiman’s for $995. Wouldn’t they look so swanky on a red carpet with a no-doubt fantastic outfit?

Vanessa Hudgens: I Love My Cole Haan Shoes

Posted by Shomore in Celebrity Shoe Style, Cole Haan Shoes, I really love my shoe

It’s hard to believe that Vanessa Hudgens is only 18. She already has a long resume for her age, has the pose down, and possesses great fashion style (or has a great stylist). Take, for example, these pumps that she wore while promoting Disney’s High School Musical 2 on various morning shows. Vanessa gets two fashion thumbs up for wearing shoes by Cole Haan, one of my favorite shoe brands. Cole Haan is owned by Nike so there is a certain level of comfort that you know you’ll get in their shoes. I’m guessing that Vanessa is all smiles in these photos because her feet aren’t hurting. Besides comfort, I love how elegant this d’Orsay looks - with a beautiful grayish-blue color and leather with snake detail, what more can you ask for?

The Cole Haan Alicia D’Orsay is available at ColeHaan.com for $195.

Britney Spears: I really love my Timberland boots

Posted by Shomore in Celebrity Shoe Style, I really love my shoe, Shoe Designers

I’m the eternal optimist.  That is probably why, despite all the unflattering news of Britney Spears, I still believe there is hope for her.  Heck, if Drew Barrymore, poster children for bad behavior, can clean up her act, then maybe Britney can as well (and I really hope so for her children’s sake).

In the clothing arena, Britney can start to rectify her fashion faux-paus by wearing clothing appropriate for the weather.  Take these Timberland boots seen on Britney not once, but thrice during the last few weeks. The weather in LA was in the 80s and 90s.  The boots are definitely cute, but are more fitting during the winter months, perhaps while snowboarding in the mountains.

So unless Britney as some very cold feet, may I suggest that a step in the right direction would be a nice pair of sandals instead?

Pink Timberland Mukluk boot can be purchased at Zappos for $111

If you are looking for some pink Timberlands that are more appropriate for the summer, how about this cute Timberland hempstead wedge ? It’s available at Zappos for $45.
