Dear Readers: What boot is Brad Pitt wearing?

Posted by galligator in Ask the Shoebloggers, Boots, General, I really love my shoe, Shoes on the Street

Hello folks.

We have a gentleman who has been visiting our forums for about a month now trying to identify this boot that he is desperate to own.

OK, now here’s the toughy, What kind of boots are these he (Brad Pitt) is wearing? He wears them all the time, not every picture is with this boot, but a lot are this exact boot.

Here are some distinct qualities of this boot:

Notice bottom sole is a two piece, one part for the heel and one part for the front part of foot, This is a very distinct feature of the shoe, sometimes only seen in roper toe cowboy type boots.

Also the bottom sole of the heel has a distinct “V” cut slash in the heel in the picture where he is taking a step.

Also the bottom of the shoes on the right bottom is a square that is colored either orange or red and is the brands name on it or the color is part of the brand, because in two of the pictures showing the bottom of his shoes one can clearly see the bottom of the shoe has the orange or red square trademark. The logo on the bottom is a big give away as to what brand it is.

Also notice the tip of the shoe has a bit of white on the toe area, also a distinct mark on the boot.

Also the material is a gray suede or a distressed pewter, he also has a pair of these in dark brown in one of the pictures, but mostly he wears the dark gray suede or distressed pewter.

They are zip ankle boots, with a round toe very similar to roper style, but not a cowboy boot, also has a Chelsea boot style on the front ankle.

Unfortunately for our friend bottnoob, neither I, nor anyone else on the forums, have been able to identify the manufacturer or style of this boot.

*Sigh* I like it much better when I can actually find an answer on these shoe-hunts.

So, I am now asking you - our readers (who are much more celebrity-savvy than I) to help him out.

Here are the boots in question:

So, how about it?

Perhaps you - or your significant other - own or recognize this boot or recognize the brand?

Any leads, clues, or other information would be most helpful and greatly appreciated at this point.

Any information you have can be left here in comment form, or over in our shoe-forums where this hunt began.

Carine Roitfield - I love my Alaia heels

Posted by r5bales in Alaia Shoes, General, I really love my shoe

Carine Roitfield  of Vogue Paris is considered a style icon within the fashion industry.

She has a pair of Azzedine Alaia lace up sandals that she has worn several times.   They were £705 at Browns but are no longer available.     Here is the shoe.

Here are the outfits.

AMFAR Charity Luncheon 2008

Wild Grass Premier 2009

Cinema Against Aids Gala

Dolce Gabbana Party 2009

I am not sure when this was taken, but I think it was Paris Fashion Week 2009.

When I look at the shoe in the top photograph I think they are heinous, but seeing the way she has worn them I think they might not be so bad.  What do you think?

No, they are awful.

Angelina Jolie loves Stuart Weitzman Sashay Pumps

Posted by Shomore in Celebrity Shoe Style, I really love my shoe, Stuart Weitzman Shoes

I just finished watching the movie Wanted on DVD (it was my hubby’s pick).  While watching the numerous fight scenes, I was struck at how different a character Angelina Jolie chooses to play onscreen (she’s a foxy assassin, unafraid to use guns and resort to violence) versus her off-screen actions.   In real life she’s a Goodwill Ambassador, philanthropist, and adopts children from third world countries.  Filled with conflicting messages, right?

And that’s exactly the same way I felt when I saw Angelina in these Stuart Weitzman Patent Sashay Pumps ($199 at Zappos).  I’m a big fan of the nude/flesh tone colors as they will elongate anyone’s frame and match everything.  I imagine that’s why they are also Angelina’s go-to shoes and a staple in her wardrobe.  Yet nude is almost on the opposite of the color spectrum next to the color black, which is the darkest of dark colors.  Again, Angelina is a woman full of contrasts and that’s what makes her so interesting to me.

Kristen Stewart: I really love my Chanel T-Strap Shoes

Posted by Shomore in Chanel Shoes, I really love my shoe

These are two things consistent themes when I look at these photos of Twilight actress Kirsten Stewart.

#1) Kirsten really loves wearing the Chanel t-strap heels from the fall collection.

#2) She also loves the messy, tousled wet hair look.

The shoes are classy. Kristen has shown the shoes work on a contemporary dress and look equally nice and edgy with jeans.  On the other hand, I have to say the wet hair look has to go.  It is far too disheveled to wear to movie premieres.

Bernardo Giveaway: Part Deux

Posted by twinkletoes in Focus on the Shoe Brand, General, I really love my shoe, Shoe Contests

Clearly, you readers are just as excited about the fabulous Bernardo Sahara Bootie. How about we add a little more wood to the fire?

I ordered a pair of these lovely Saharas in the Chocolate Shearling model:

Bernardo Sahara Shearling Chocolate

System checkup:
Cute…check.
Warm…check.
Comfortable…check.

After spending more hours than I wish to accept debating which style to get (and therefore condemning myself to living without the rest), I reminded myself that I no longer live in California and that there will be ICE and SNOW in very short order. Then I put in my order and waited, with great anticipation, for them to show up on my doorstep.

Then the happy day arrived. I tore open the packaging and slipped my foot into the downy comfort of the shearling Sahara. Then I took my babies for a walk. For the first time in my life (really) I may have been a little sad that there was no ice outside. This shoe is solid, well-constructed and has all kids of sole. Honest, that thing could keep a grip on the slickest of streets. Furthermore, I cannot describe how soft and lovely this bootie is. The leather itself is amazing, supple and soft, and the shearling….oh the shearling. Typically I do not care for shearling, but this stuff is heaven.

True to Bernard Rudofsky’s original creed, there was a special place for every part of my foot. Each of my toes felt quite comfortable. My ankle bone had somewhere to go. A great sigh of relief may have even escaped the oft-tortured part of the back of my ankle as it was enrobed in the delicious chocolate.

Here is a candid of my Happy Foot:

Happy Foot 2

So people, one more time, don’t forget to comment on the ORIGINAL post (not on this one) to enter yourself to win a pair of these babies. You won’t reget the keystrokes. I promise.
