posted by: Shomore in Just for Kicks

Bringing new meaning to the term ‘loafers’ are these shoes from DaDaDa Studio.  Even though they are unwearable, these bread shoes are sure to make your feet rise to the occasion and can be yours for 22 – 62 euroes.

Happy April Fools Day Everyone!

Bacon Shoes at Zazzle

So I am looking through a cooking magazine for something to fix for dinner. In a sidebox they featured a pair of shoes.

They are revolting.  They are heinous.  I want a pair.

The Hover Bacon Extremes $64 at Zazzle.com

The close-up.

Here is the funny part, there are about three or four options.

The Champion Slip Ons  $60 at Zazzle.com

So not only can you wear bacon on your feet, you can also wear breakfast.  These are not as revolting as bacon, but still pretty entertaining.  This website has opened up a whole new world for me.

Breakfast Shoes $60

or Eggs and Bacon $72

There is a whole menu of stuff.

Bacon.  Who Knew?

Update:  Nelodee mentioned the Eating Shoes by Tokio Kumagai, so of course I had to look it up.  I found a web site that showed several food in fashion pieces.  Here is a link to them.  Fiberarts Magazine  enjoy them.

Green Shoes to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day

I love St Patrick’s Day because nobody wears green, except on March 17, and it is such a wonderful color.  Everyone assumes I have an Irish ancestor, because of the red hair thing, but the red hair comes from a Scottsman.  Anyways, I have been planning my Irish meal for a week, and have been planning my green outfit for a couple of days.  It’s true, I have no life.  I have no green shoes, either.

I would LOVE the Gaultier shoes from his Fall Couture line, but that isn’t going to happen.

So I decided to see what endless had for a substitute.

Miss Mooz Full House Sandals $95 at endless.com

Moda Spana Pamper $75

Moda also had a green platform pump that was made of the same green leather.  They are really cute.

Harajuku Lovers Avallon $100

Isn’t the little heart on the heel adorable?

John Fluevog Pearl Hart $208

Fluevog always offers a funky taste to his high quality shoes.  I love them.

For those who just can’t bring themselves to wear a REALLY green shoe, here is an olive green boot that is nice.

Eric Michael Soho $130

The following is what I ordered.  I hope they fit properly because I really need a green shoe for next year.

Miz Mooz Waverly $95 at endless

So if you are going out, have a pint of green beer.  I am staying home and will be serving a Guinness Beef Stew and Irish Soda Bread. (We had corned and cabbage last year.)   Dinner is at 6:30, so come by.

Mardi Gras Glitter Shoes

This is just one more reason that hubby & I need to get out to New Orleans one of these years for Mardis Gras.

Krewe of Muses is the only all-female club to have a float in the New Orleans Mardis Gras parade.  And, while most of us know to expect a lot of beads to be thrown at Mardis Gras, the Krewe of Muses have their own souvenirs to throw to the watching crowds.

Individually hand-decorated ‘glitter shoes’:

How fabulous these are!

What’s a shoe-lover to do?  For starters, add one more thing to my ‘When I get to New Orleans during Mardi Gras’ list.

Of course, now I’m thinking about glitter shoes. Sure, there are the Louboutin Glitter Pumps Trainingheels showed us yesterday. But, if you want a pair for a future Mardi Gras that you won’t be too afraid to get dirty, how about trying out a pair of these un peu moins chère versions:

Guess ‘Tailgate’ $89.95 at Zappos.com

Vince Camuto ‘Maria’ $122 at Zappos.com

J Renee ‘Gazelle’ $99.70 $104.94 at Endless.com

Guess ‘Carrielee 4′ $89.95 at Zappos.com, & Endless.com$89.99 at Heels.com

Romantic Soles ‘Dasha Sequins’ $65.95 at Zappos.com

Butter ‘Season’ $268.95 at Endless.com

Juicy Couture ‘Emily’ $140 $238 at Zappos.com

Pelle Moda ‘Lilu’ $77.85 $114 at Zappos.com

To read more on what is involved in gathering and decorating these one of a kind Mardi Gras treats, see this article at ShuzSociety from Mardi Gras 2009. Also, details on how you can become a Muse are here.

In Your Shoe Closet

posted by: brianka in General, Just for Kicks

About a week ago, Brenda, PursuitofShoes, and GivemePlatforms were generous enough to allow us a peek into their shoe-closets.

I really loved seeing the variety, individuality, and hint of personality shown in each different closet.

This week, three more of our readers have sent us pictures of their unique shoe collections for our viewing pleasure.

First up, CF’s closet:

Next up. Sabrina’s closet:

And finally, Lori’s closet:

From one shoe-lover to another, I’d like to say thank you for giving us this glimpse at each of these lovely shoe collections.

Also, if you enjoyed these closets, don’t forget to browse our ‘Your Shoe Closet’ section in our Shoeblog forums.
