Fergie Shoes Giveaway: Enter here

Posted by Shomore in Celebrity Shoe Style, Shoe Contests

I’m excited to announce a ShoeBlog first.  To celebrate the launch of Fergie’s shoes, our generous sponsors are giving ShoeBlog readers a chance to win not one, not two, but a whopping THREE pairs of shoes (styles subject to availability).   If the name sounds familiar, it’s because the line is designed by singer and now shoe designer Fergie from the hip hop group Black Eyed Peas and the solo platinum album, The Duchess.

Fergie wearing the ‘Jonas’ shoe ($81) from her shoe line

Now one of the things that I like about this shoe brand is that Fergie actually wears the shoes from her line (unlike a few other celebrities who shall go nameless).  Yes, a celebrity needs to wear the shoe to the launch of her shoe line (seen here in the Teema gladiator sandals, which is $99 at Piperlime).

But it’s refreshing and a great testimonial to see a celebrity in a non-press release event wearing shoes from her own collection.  This particular style is called the ‘Pepper’ gladiator ($129 from Endless).  I love how Fergie’s paired the high fashion Gucci shirtdress and low slung belt with more moderately priced sandals.

The Fergie shoe line is every bit as fun, and catchy as the songs Fergie sings.  There really is a shoe to fit every personality and occassion, whether you feel like going casual, dressing up, etc.   Have a look - Fergalicious, right?

Now, there are so many trendy shoe options to choose from, how can the winner pick one, right?  Well, we’ll make it easy for the grand prize winner.  The lucky gal will receive TWO pairs of shoes. Now if I were her, I’d pick a flat sandal or sneaker and another shoe for dressier events.   For our second winner, the runner-up, they’ll have a more difficult task of singling out a sole pair of shoes they’d like to receive.

To enter this contest, simply visit the Fergie Shoes website and tell us which 2 pairs of shoes you’d like to win and why.  Entries must be received by midnight, Tuesday June 2nd and the winner will be randomly chosen.  Good luck!

Update:  This contest is only available to US residents.

Nina Shoes Giveaway Winner

Posted by Shomore in Shoe Contests

Last month we were holding a contest for a pair of Nina Shoes.  Well, I’m happy to report that the generous folks at Nina Shoes couldn’t pick a single winner…so they chose two!

Our winners are entries #11 from R5Bales and #38 from Kate.  Both have incredible shopping experiences that I feel compelled to share.  They were priceless experiences that will simply warm your hearts!

Synoposis from R5Bales: …When my daughter was 17 she did not dress like most 17 year olds, and wanted something different for her prom dress. I told her I would buy nothing that cost more than $150 for a prom dress.

We looked at what seemed to be every formal dress in the Phoenix metro area. We had been shopping for five hours and found nothing. Nearing the end of the day, exhausted, we went to Nordstroms to go to the restroom, I suggested we look at their formal wear. There, tucked in the sale rack, size 6 was a pink beaded silk dress that fit her personality and her body like it was made for her. Price tag: $159. We went down to the shoe area and found a pair of crystal encrusted sandals on sale for $65. She bought the shoes, I bought the dress.

Why was this so memorable? I remember how exhausted we were, how excited we were to find this perfect dress, how beautiful she looked, and how many times since she has worn both the dress and the shoes.

Congrats R5Bales! Prom is such a memorable event for a young lady and think your daughter will always remember the exhausting but perfect ending to a day of dress shopping with mom.

R5Bales picked Nina’s Detra sandal to wear - I’ll bet it’s perfect for those hot desert summers in Arizona.

Synopsis from Kate: My mom is an amazing women she really does sacrifice so much for her children, me and my sisters and she would rather spend money on us then herself… She has made do with the same clothes for more than 15 years and I was so happy to be there when she scored the biggest deal ever. We went shopping one day…We were casually browsing the racks when suddenly a supple leather bag caught my eye. i quickly grabbed it and realized that it was Chloe bag! And since it was a consignment store i guess the workers did not realize the gem that it was since they only priced it at $90!! I ran over to my mom and showed her and she got so excited and began telling me how great it would look on me and how it would go with so many outfits! I bought the bag and when we got into the car i turned to her and told her that I wanted to have it. Knowing how much i loved the bag and really wanted it and realizing that I loved her so much made her tear up and all she could do was hug me. That was the best experience of my life!

Kate, it sounds like your mom is a remarkable and giving person.  She’s also quite lucky to have such a  thoughtful daughter too.  We didn’t plan for this, but it looks like you’re going to be able to gift your mom and early Mother’s Day present. Those Nina’s Dryden boots you picked out are sure to go well with the Chloe bag.

Thanks to everyone who entered the contest.  All of you had wonderful adventures shopping and it was a pleasure to read them all.  And if you didn’t win this contest, stay tuned.  We’ve got more on the way!

Many wanted the Nina’s Electra shoe, which is available in a myriad of colors:

And others preferred the black, edgy, but feminine Edina peeptoe bootie,  both are beautiful choices depending on which direction you prefer to go in.  Gals, you have terrific taste!

Now I consider myself a pretty savvy shopper, but I my fellow shoeaholics beat me hands down - they are either really lucky or deserve to be professional shoppers. I mean, look at some of the contestants’ fabulous finds (note, I am not judging this contest so I feel comfortable randomly picking a few to share). Can you believe the how beautiful the purchases were and the incredible deals these ladies got? To name a few:

Win a pair of Nina Shoes

Posted by Shomore in General, Shoe Contests

For spring, we’ve got a great shoe giveaway to spruce up your warm weather wardrobe and to help you accessorize for the proms, graduation parties, and wedding parties you’ll be attending so you’ll be the most glamorous girl there.

Our generous sponsor, Nina Footwear, is donating a pair of fabulous Nina shoes of your choice.  If the brand sounds familiar, that’s probably because Nina is a shoe brand that’s known for having glamorous-looking shoes at accessible prices, like these cream Nina Cathie shoes, which can be had for $102.

Nina shoes have also been featured in wedding movies like 27 Dresses and more recently in the movie Confessions of a Shopaholic (see those shoe boxes with an “N” on the right).

To enter to win a pair of Nina Shoes, leave a comment with TWO things.

  1. As a shopaholic, share with us your favorite shopping moment.  The founder of Net-a-Porter, Natalie Massenet, found an authentic Hermès Kelly bag for $10.  What were your great finds? Bonus points will go out to those that email us at admin@shoeblog.com with a picture or video, but leaving text is certainly alright as well.
  2. Visit the NinaShoes.com website and tell us which pair you want to win. The winner of the contest will get the pair of shoes they selected or an alternative choice if their size and style isn’t available.

Nina Shoes will pick the winner based on the response they like the best.  So now what are you waiting for, enter the contest by 5pm Wednesday April 15st PST.  We look forward to hearing from you.
