To temporarily interrupt our holiday shoe broadcasts, here’s a more regular blog topic - our shoe showdown.

Tory Burch, Victoria Beckham, and Taylor Momsen have all worn the Fall 2008 futuristic Balenciaga pointy pump during a night out (albeit with reversed colors compared to the runway version).  For this shoe showdown, which gal gets your vote for rocking this industrial statement piece and why?

My vote goes to Victoria Beckham.  These shoes are the focal point of the outfit and the remaining pieces need to stay simple and understated.  Tory’s top and Taylor’s dress just were too distracting for me.

Who wore Kettle Black’s fringe boot best? Would it be Lauren Conrad or one of the stars of High School Musical, Ashley Tisdale or Vanessa Hudgens? I have to go with Lauren or Vanessa since they both chose black tights to go with the trendy but distracting fringe style. Even though I think Ashley’s dog is adorable, I think the plaid shirt and jeans would work better with cowboy boots.

It’s been a while since we’ve done one of these so let’s have a shoe showdown. Who wore Manolo Blahnik’s slingback peep toe bootie ($755 at Bergdorf Goodman) best - Hilary Duff or Becki Newton?

And since we’re in a recession here, instead of the $755 Manolo pricetag, Michael Kors has a similiar peep toe bootie (minus slingback) for a more palatable price of $149 plus Nordstroms is currently running a promo where it ships for free.

Both Jessica Simpson and Mary-Kate Olsen were seen wearing Sonia Rykia’s ‘Sergio’ T-strap wooden platforms. Their fashion style couldn’t be more different. Whose outfit do you prefer?

Waaay back in February, Rhianna, Camilla Belle, Ali Larter, and Debra Messing were all seen in Gucci’s Sevigny shoe (the shoe was named after the actress Chloe Sevigny). For me, it’s hard to pick which actress wore the shoes best since I admire all four for being able to pull off the thick ankle strap which tends to shorten the legs.

The Gucci Sevigny is available at Neiman Marcus for $695.

Zappos carries a strikingly similar style by Nine West called the Olavera for $93.
