Well, since these have been out for over a year, I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised that mainstream imitations are available at lower-end prices.

Nina Ricci Patent Open Toe Sandals

I’m not usually that big a fan of patent-leather shoes, or of retro-chunky platforms. But, the shape and line of these almost makes me forget that they are just a little bit thick in the heel. I find myself falling for them. Hard. They look all smooth and swooshy & I just want to touch them, hold them, and look at them.
Sergio Rossi Crystal Spiral Heel Sandals

Luisaviaroma.com may just be my new favorite online store-that-I-can’t-afford-to-shop-at. The sound you are now hearing is me sighing wistfully.
Self-pity over; here’s a treat from the website in question. Set your eyes on this sparkling Sergio Rossi creation.
The strappy caged upper hints at the shape of a bow. Certainly these would be an amazing present for any shoe-lover to receive – no gift wrap required.
With that earthy bronze tone and glamorous shine, they are perfect for both summer and fall evenings in either dressy skirts or classic denim.
Plus, crystal embellishments have been steadily increasing in popularity with shoe designers throughout the year. As someone who has become exhausted with this years ‘studs, studs, and even more studs’ trend for shoes, sandals, and boots – crystals are a refreshing way to give a shoe added depth and dimension without resorting the the now-ubiquitous studs. And, if you find just one crystal style shoe or sandal that you adore, it will never go out of fashion – so long as there are romantic evenings with our hubbies or hotties to be had.
And, of course, there’s that show-stopping, corkscrew-stiletto heel. Both men and women are likely to find themselves suffering from sudden cases of whiplash after you stroll by.
Stunning; Simply stunning.

Tabitha Simmons Playful Polka Dot Sandals

I can’t seem to fall asleep tonight (this morning?). Ye gods, it’s nearly 3 AM and sleep is apparently not in my immediate future. It’s been one of those days/weeks/summers – something like that.
Be that as it may, it looks like I’m gonna be awake for a bit longer. So, here I am, hunting online for something fun & upbeat to pass the time.
What I found were these adorable polka dot platform sandals from Tabitha Simmons.
How utterly cute are these? Fun and fanciful – I dare you to keep a frown on your face while you are sporting a pair of these on your feet.
These shoes are a summer tea-party dream; a reminder to slow down, smile, and find your playful side. Who says you have to be grown-up & serious all the time? Sometimes a bit of whimsy is just what we need to counteract all of the stress and pressure that comes from our everyday lives and responsibilities.
One slice of whimsy, coming right up.
