Dear Readers: What boot is Brad Pitt wearing?

Posted by galligator in Ask the Shoebloggers, Boots, General, I really love my shoe, Shoes on the Street

Hello folks.

We have a gentleman who has been visiting our forums for about a month now trying to identify this boot that he is desperate to own.

OK, now here’s the toughy, What kind of boots are these he (Brad Pitt) is wearing? He wears them all the time, not every picture is with this boot, but a lot are this exact boot.

Here are some distinct qualities of this boot:

Notice bottom sole is a two piece, one part for the heel and one part for the front part of foot, This is a very distinct feature of the shoe, sometimes only seen in roper toe cowboy type boots.

Also the bottom sole of the heel has a distinct “V” cut slash in the heel in the picture where he is taking a step.

Also the bottom of the shoes on the right bottom is a square that is colored either orange or red and is the brands name on it or the color is part of the brand, because in two of the pictures showing the bottom of his shoes one can clearly see the bottom of the shoe has the orange or red square trademark. The logo on the bottom is a big give away as to what brand it is.

Also notice the tip of the shoe has a bit of white on the toe area, also a distinct mark on the boot.

Also the material is a gray suede or a distressed pewter, he also has a pair of these in dark brown in one of the pictures, but mostly he wears the dark gray suede or distressed pewter.

They are zip ankle boots, with a round toe very similar to roper style, but not a cowboy boot, also has a Chelsea boot style on the front ankle.

Unfortunately for our friend bottnoob, neither I, nor anyone else on the forums, have been able to identify the manufacturer or style of this boot.

*Sigh* I like it much better when I can actually find an answer on these shoe-hunts.

So, I am now asking you - our readers (who are much more celebrity-savvy than I) to help him out.

Here are the boots in question:

So, how about it?

Perhaps you - or your significant other - own or recognize this boot or recognize the brand?

Any leads, clues, or other information would be most helpful and greatly appreciated at this point.

Any information you have can be left here in comment form, or over in our shoe-forums where this hunt began.

Fashion’s Night Out

Posted by r5bales in General, Giuseppe Zanotti Shoes, Shoes on the Street, Stuart Weitzman Shoes

Last night, in conjunction with New York Fashion week, was Fashion’s Night Out.  Anna Wintour was a key player in the organization of this event.   I have read mixed reactions about it.   One blog said that there was a lot of people, but not many purchases were made, that taxies, on the other hand, were the winners of the evening.  Another blogger said the night was, a “huge success, bravo Ms. Wintour.”   This post just shows who was doing what last night.

The photos show a lot of people on the streets and in the stores, mostly spectators photographing celebrities, notice this is what is happening in the photo of Beth Ostrosky.

Here is Rhianna at the World of Giuseppe Zanotti boutique.  Trying a little hard there, Rhianna?

It looked like a model was doing yoga in a display area.  These boots are wedges, the outer edge has lattice cutouts while the inside edge is solid. Pretty cool.

This is Stuart and Jane Weitman at their boutique.

The shoe display at SW.

Camilla Belle, Nacho Figueras, Blake Lively and David Lauren at the Ralph Lauren Women’s store on Bleecker Ave.  I noticed Ms Lively’s boots are probably the only boots on the street that are not black booties.  I love both Camilla and Blake’s shoes.

Victoria Beckham posing to beat the band at Bergdorf Goodman.  Giuseppi Zanotti is at the edge of the photo, wearing white Nikes.  I love it.

Edited:  Just for Shomore: This is Michelle Tractenberg, Designer Zanotti, Katy Perry and Rachel Bilson in World of Giuseppe Zanotti botique.  He had been signing shoes all night long which explains the markers in his hand.

This is why ya gotta love New York.

The goal of Fashion’s Night Out was to encourage consumers to buy things.  I am not sure if that goal was achieved, but it looks like everyone had a grand time.

Miz Mooz Clearance

Posted by trainingheels in Shoes on the Street

Lots of my girlfriends seem to sport shoes by Miz Mooz, particularly their trendy boots, but now they have cute gladiator sandals and summer pumps too that are vaguely Chie Mihara-ish in their heel shapes and upper shapes and colors.

There’s the Corinthia for$99.99.

The Rimini is $109.99.

Try on the Lois for $109.99.

One of my favorites is the Soleil, on clearance for $69.99.

Here is an adorable young Williamsburg fashion designer friend of mine wearing a pair of their boots.

She and I agree that we like the design of the front, which is so protective of rain, which we’re getting a lot in New York this summer.

My other friend has this pair, the Astor, which are now on clearance for $79.99. I don’t care if they’re old, these military-inspired scarlet red boots are hot and I still want them for next winter to walk through Astor Place!

On the Subway: Grey Recessionrrific Boots

Posted by trainingheels in Shoes on the Street

I caught this lovely young hipsterista on the subway platform for the L at Union Square. She was heading toward the East Village and was wearing these grey Skechers boots that cost her just over a c-note. They’re pretty standard, but what was important was the way she put them together with her outfit. She’s a fashion designer, and I just love how her long hair matches her long sweater and her long boots. Seen all those articles in InStyle and Lucky encouraging you to shop from your own closet? I think one of the easiest ways you can do that is by jazzing up old pieces with new contrasting items.

“Color is the first thing I look for,” she said. And sure enough, the muted grey of her boots and her bag contrasted with the sparkly silver of her sweater accents. Indeed, this chilly, rainy summer in New York has allowed us to wear boots. Cute!
