Enjoying your April springtime so far, Shoeblog readers?
Well, April’s about to get better for the lucky winner of a new pair of Danskos, since last week’s contest has come to a close.
And that winner is (drumroll please…)
Jill Kroese, who said:
I’d like the Thea in natural, size 41. Don’t have anything to go with them yet, but also don’t have a problem shopping for something!
Congratulations, Jill!! As a Thea wearer myself, I can promise you stylish comfort is coming your way.
Drop me a line (jitterbugbaby at shoeblog dot com) with your contact info and final style choice.
Thanks for entering, everyone, and I must say I’m jealous of a number of your wardrobe items now!

Celebrating Spring with Sandals
posted by: Shomore in Sandals
Even though it’s finally spring, the weather outside still thinks it’s winter. So to warm my chilly bones and grow my spirits, I present to you these gorgeous embellished sandals. From left to right, this Steve Madden ‘Pharroh’ sandal looks luxurious enough to be worn by Cleopatra herself but at $79.95 with free shipping and returns at Nordstrom, it’s at a price point that’s very manageable. Both the Sam Edelman’s ‘Ross’ sandal ($99.95 with free shipping & returns) and the Joan & David ‘Kaycia’ sandal($174.95 with free shipping & returns) have enough sparkle that you can wear them to a spring/summer wedding at the beach. Yet, they are versatile enough I can dress them down for everyday use as well.
Happy Spring Everyone!
The Paul Smith Mancini Flowered Loafer
posted by: freePOrnaoa in Comfort Shoes, Flats, Paul Smith
You can’t find this loafer online very easily, especially on sale.
But you can find it on sale for $223 at the Paul Smith Sale Shop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
It pays to read your ShoeBlog. Call them ahead to see if they have your size.
This loafer really caught my eye while I was out shopping with friends. It’s feminine, comfortable, and just a little showy with the gold panels.
Made with white and pink nubuck, contrast vintage gold panels, and beige leather soles, this is a 100% leather shoe.
Butter Shoes

I am not a person of extremes. I would never wear Louboutin’s Dafreak,
even if they were given to me. I fantasize about purchasing Rick Owens wedge boots, but would never actually BUY them. For two reasons. 1) Putting me more than 6 inches above the ground is a disaster waiting to happen.
2) You get what you pay for, but you also have to pay for what you get. Buying a pair of shoes that cost more than my washing machine just makes no sense to me.
Others disagree, or Christian Louboutin wouldn’t be celebrating his 20th anniversary.
Anyways, I found a shoe line that is neither extreme in it’s styling nor extreme in it’s price. Let’s look at Butter Shoes. Founded by Nancy Geist and Lee Reich in 2007 to provide feminine shoes that are comfortable enough to walk and stand in. They average $250 to 300.
Let’s look at some Butter Shoes. (more…)
