I wanted to write about the Maison Martin Margiela* SS2011 RTW show right after the original runway photos came out. Unfortunately, every time I looked at the press photos, a certain television theme song would, inevitably, begin playing in my head – suddenly, all bets were off and I’d have to call it quits for the day.
But, the shoes have been available since mid-year and I need to get my ranting and reviewing over with already.
First Impressions: Love or Hate?
I love intricate or carved heel details on shoes. So, it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that I’ve been pining over Casadei’s 2010 fall line of boots & pumps with their delightfully-geometric, devilishly high, drop-dead gorgeous heels.

I mean, look at these! What’s not to love?
Earlier this month Alejandro Ingelmo launched a new web site, alejandroingelmo.com. It is an interesting website. With vintage photos, a video featuring Mr. Ingelmo talking about the history and vision of his company and the ability to shop online for both men and women collections.
He features two designs in each season that are available only through his site. For example, his Crosby bootie ($695) in the Fall/Winter line is offered in gold. (I know this is early, especially with the heat, but wouldn’t these be fun during the Christmas Season?)
Ingelmo shoes are at the $350 to $1100 price point with the Spring/Summer shoes currently on sale to about 40 %.
Let’s look at some shoes. (more…)
I don’t think I’m going out on a limb when I say that nobody does stilettos like Gianmarco Lorenzi. Nobody. Heels just don’t come any skinnier, sexier, or treacherous than this:
Roses and platforms and ankle ties – Oh my!
But, if red isn’t your thing, but crystals and orchids touch your fancy, just peek at these sparkling confections:
I was going to end with these, but I just remembered this additional pair, and find myself compelled to share them with you as well:
Oh my, yes… flirty flowers to fit a variety of fashion preferences and personalities.
As I’ve mentioned before, the thought of walking in any of these, frankly, terrifies me. Nonetheless, as fodder for a fantasy fashion shoot, these are undeniably stunning.
Unlike many of today’s shoe lovers, I tend to run either hot or cold in regard to shoes from Christian Louboutin. A handful of them ‘wow’ me, but a lot of the others are just okay – classic and elegant, but not really breaking new ground.
However, there are those times when Louboutin creates a shoe that makes me squeal with desire. The Arabesque spirals and swirls of these Pampas patterned shoes are just such an occasion.
