Chanel Spring/Summer 2011 Running Shoes

To quote Coco Chanel “A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” When I first saw these Chanel running shoes, I thought Coco might be rolling in her grave. These shoes just do not reflect the feminine and timeless style that I absolutely love about Chanel. In fact, they are so off course for Chanel that I would have thought they were cheap knock offs had I not been on the official Chanel website. I know that sneakers and running shoes are ‘hot’ and a way for brands to extend their reach to appeal to a wider audience, but really, Chanel, isn’t this selling yourself a bit short and comprising the brand? Nike spends tons of money on research to achieve the perfect running shoe. Somehow, I don’t think much science was involved in creating this shoe.
What are you thoughts? Do you like this shoe? Would you wear it?

PLEASE Chanel is totally about culture and style while exercise is very very important its not something that Coco would consider relevant to this vision. On top of that the shoe is U G L Y like something from the 80's not that that is bad i love retro but you would expect Chanel to be on the edge in releasing a new product not 30 years behind
