Dior Snake-Print Leather Pumps

I have a confession to make: I secretly love pink.  It’s not so secret anymore, granted, but I tend to keep it from my friends and family, which is why they must never, ever know how utterly in love I am with Christian Dior’s new Snake-Print Leather pumps ($590 at Saks) in pink.  Pink!  They are so pretty, I don’t even know what to do with myself.

I’ve noticed lately that snake skin shoes are becoming more and more popular — to the point where I hardly notice them anymore.  The lovely, feminine shell pink color is what first made me stop on this pair.  They are available in black as well, and had that been the highlighted color, I probably would have passed right over this scrumptious pair of heels.  As it stands, I can just picture how they would look with a classic, classy little Chanel suit.  Mind you, I’ve never worn a Chanel suit in my entire life, but this makes me want to run out and buy one, just so I have a reason to wear the shoes.

Made with supple Italian leather, they evoke all the classic style for which Christian Dior is known.  The heel is not quite four inches high — it’s about three and three-quarter inches — and they have a subtly pointed toe — tres chic!

Of course, the problem with pink pumps is that sometimes they can look a little too sweetheart, a little too prom-like.  I think the delicate shade saves this pair from that, but what do you think?  There’s a passage in White Oleander where both Magnusson women make fun of pink pumps; Astrid says they make her look and feel like a Disney character.  Do you agree?
