I adore a lot of designers but Christian Louboutin tops the list for a number of reasons. One big one has to do with the way he has of making shoes look like full throttle fashion. I mean, some of his shoes look like veritable outfits. For an illustration of what I mean, check out these Misfit 150 Suede & Leather Sandals ($712.50 at Net-a-Porter). Just as a P.S., those are marked down from $1,425 because, as mentioned, Net-a-Porter is having maybe the most awesome sale ever.
Now, there are some pairs of Christian Louboutin shoes that are definitely not for every day – and this is one such pair. But you have to admit that they’d make a stellar statement at any number of events. With gold rivets, suede, and leather, these are less shoes, more works of art. The embellishment looks like a little cocktail corset. You’d have to be careful what outfit you pair these with or it could easily be too much, but I think they’d look absolutely killer with a classic little black dress. Louboutins were by and large made to highlight LBDs, don’t you think?
These sandals half a 6 inch, or 150 millimeter, heel, but they are paired up with 1.5 inch, or 40 millimeter, platforms, so you get some extra support in there. The sandals also have tassels. Oh yes. See:
Or do you find them a bit too much? No doubt, these are the height of haute couture, but pretty as they are, you do have to wonder about wearability.
