Christian Louboutin’s Winter 2010-2011 Line

There is nothing worse than the official Christian Louboutin web site. All you see are these awful green eyes and floating shoes. You are supposed to click on this little photo to pull the shoe up. Terrible.
I used to be all about Christian Louboutin shoes, maybe I am getting old, contrary, or just grouchy, but I didn’t see anything lustilicious. Lots of spikes, lots of studs, lots of metalics, lots of ultra high platforms, lots of over the top. Whatever.
Here is a glimpse of some of the shoes released last week.
These shoes do appeal to someone because there are about 200 counterfeit websites. Christian Louboutin released an update to the list of counterfeit sites a couple of weeks ago.
So, are any of these lustilicious for you? Maybe if I look at them long enough, I will change my mind.

I am not impressed with this season either. The shoes are going from beautiful works of art to looking like something you would buy at Trashy Lingerie. The only pair that I find attractive is the Petite Fee.
You may be interested in entering a contest being held on Chictopia’s blog for a chance to win a $500 cash prize and become the Beso Fashion Correspondent for the month of August.
Thank you for sharing, as always, I look forward to your daily posts.

Galligator, you are right…I have already had to have multiple pairs of my YSL Trib’s re-heeled due to excessive wear!

They already reside in my dressing room…you really know my taste! I have a 'contact' in Europe who regularly selects and sends certain designers to me, sometimes before they are available in the states.

Valentina, have you had a chance to look at styles by Gianmarco Lorenzi? A lot of them are double/triple platforms on cigarette-thin stilettos. I'm afraid I would break an ankle (A heel lover & clumsy, yep, that's me) – but they might work for you, particularly if you are regularly wearing higher styles…I may love heels, but I spend a whole lot of time in bare feet or socks than wearing shoes of any style.

Not very impressive indeed. I do like the Petite Fee ones, but all the rest is a bit trashy. Overhyped or just a temporary design-dip?

‘Big Lips Booty’ has got to be the worst name for a shoe ever. Haha!
I actually like all the spiked shoes on the bottom row, but I don’t really love any of the others.
And the Louboutin website is absolutely dreadful!

Flash sites are a little clunky to maneuver and bug me, too. Plus, search engines don’t like to index a lot of flash web pages properly, so the whole decision to design it with a splash intro screen seems unusual But, at least with the crazy flash website you can know it’s not one of the thousands of fake sites pretending to sell authentic CL’s.
On the shoes, they are nice enough, but except for the ones in houndstooth, which is a pattern I fall for, these styles aren’t $900+ must-haves for me. I always have to balance style with value, more’s the pity. As to the glitter, after (Prada?/Miu Miu?) and CL did heavy glitter styles a year or so ago, I can find of lot of mid-range brands in that trend that would scratch that ‘sparkles’ itch for me at a much lower price. I must LOVE a shoe to pay more than $200 for it. At the prices CL’s are going for these days, it needs to move into stalker obsession territory for me to even consider them, and then I’m still gonna cross my fingers for a clearance/last call price.
More power to the ladies who have friendlier budgets than mine.
R5Bales – you were saving for a pair of CL’s still, right (since the last time you wound up spending your stash on a dryer, I believe?) – just think of this as an extra season to save up.

The website doesn’t even give details about each specific shoe. just a photo and a name. I would like to see things like what they are made of, heel height and platform height.
When they get as high as the Lady Peep seems to be, I am always reminded of a nightclub in New Orleans that had some gorgeous cross-dresser entertainers. There was one drag-queen who must have stood 6’10. The heels were about 7 inches.

Valentina – The Jem is more my style. But, aren't you a lover of uber-high styles? The double & triple platforms Louboutin loves are right down your alley.
YSL tribs would probably be a great match for you as well.

This shoes are starting to look trashy. I do think the Pigalili are interesting.
I will stick with the more basic ones from previous lines.

The glitter ones look like an elementary school project. The kind they had you do at Christmas to bring home to your mother.
