Couture Runway 2011: Christian Dior

Why hello there, I believe I have space reserved for you in my shoe-collection:
Haute Couture, who doesn’t love you?
The Christian Dior Fall 2011 Couture shoes look good enough to eat. Wedges are formed into shiny, candy-like colors of stacked geometric shapes. These are statement wedges filled with a spirit of fun and frolic. As the nights become shorter and cooler, these make for a lovely injection of color and energy to help keep the winter blahs away.
As for the runway as a whole? It was delightfully full of color, texture, motion, exquisite tailoring, and energy. So, while this level of playfulness is not for everybody, I loved it. Of course, I do have a penchant for burlesque, carnivale & similar less-mainstream fashions.
In a year that started out with the fashion industry professing love for all things tan (beige, ivory, whatever you want to call it), injecting vibrant colors back into things is just fine by me.
And yes, I do need one of the geometric hats (though not so much on the moon headress or duct-tape eye decor, thank you very much).
