Dansko Shoe Review and Giveaway

Long time no see, Shoeblog afficionados!

I come bearing gifts, though.  Well… gift.  For one lucky winner.  But I get ahead of myself.

Since last posting I have worn many a shoe in many a country around the world, and none of that has changed the fact that I, as always, am perpetually in search of shoes that are comfy and supportive that don’t require me to sacrifice my fashionista qualifications.

Which means I’m super pleased to be able to report on the most recent addition to my shoe wardrobe.  For the last several weeks I’ve been wearing the Dansko Callie sandal at least twice a week if not more, and I’m kind of addicted to them.

For any of you who own a pair of Danskos, you probably know the kind of comfort you can get from them.  I’ve got several pairs, but I wear them mostly with casual outfits, since they’ve got a chunkier aesthetic going on.  The Callie, though, is much more streamlined and sleek, and I’ve been pairing it with everything from skirts and cocktail dresses to slim-fit cropped pants to casual shorts.

The sleek doesn’t come at the expense of soothing soles, though.  Even though this is a 2 3/4″ heel, I can still walk in them for a day of pounding the pavement and be fine in the evening.  Partly that’s due to the shock-absorbing sole and the cork footbed that molds to your feet.  Partly it’s due to the smoothness of the leather straps, which are also finished on the undersides so they don’t rub at your tender tootsies.  And partly it’s due to the 2 buckles that let you adjust over your instep and around your ankle for a nice secure fit.

Word of warning: size-wise, these seem to run a bit bigger than my other Danskos, which are all 39s.  My new best friend Callie is a size 38 and fits nicely.  I attach photographic proof of said fit (and also my current pedicure of choice):

So, in conclusion: I love these shoes.  Why should you care?

Because, dear Shoebloggers, you have a chance to win your very own Callie’s (or any other Dansko sandal, thanks to the good folks over in that neck of the woods).

Will you follow in my footsteps and go with gladiator-inspired Callie or capitalize on the return of 60s hippie chic this season and go with, say, the Rowena?

Or maybe the Sissy, an adorable update of the classic Dansko sole with a new uber-cushy footbed.

Or pick the flat, low-profile Cara, which should look fab with this summer’s trendy maxi dresses.

Whatever you choose, you know they’ll be comfy, and you won’t have to sacrifice on style.  See who’s saying what about Danskos (and I tell you now, it’s mostly rave reviews) on Facebook and Twitter.  Plus, they do other giveaways over there, so it’s in your best interest to check it out.

Here are the essential deets on How to Enter:

I lost my car keys 2 days ago. I've literally turned my house upside looking for them & I was just wondering if I can just go to a pontiac dealer and get another key? I bought it from a used car place and I didn't get a spare key.

I love the Dansko line! I've been wearing and recommending them for years. They are great for anyone who has to be on their feet on concrete floors for long hours. The only people who sometimes have issues with Dankso are people who have prominent "bumps" on their feet (Bunions, exostosis or bone spurs on the top of the foot, ect). Dansko's consistently make my "Top Ten" lists for comfortable shoes.
    Love the Blog!

Oh wow – the Rowena in Red is to die for. Not to mention I've also fallen in love with the Callies you showed off. It's always great to see them on someone's foot in a blog post, so that we get more of a feeling for what they really set it like. Hmm if I had to choose in the case of winning a wonderful pair, I think I'd go for the Rowena – bit more my style :) Thanks for hosting this great contest.

Dansko is one of my favorite shoe brands. They are well made, pack a lot of style, and designed so that comfort is part of the whole package. I'm so glad this contest came up. I've been so busy this summer, that shoe shopping has taken a back seat. I love love love the Clarissa dutch blue. It has full arch support and cork sole. I'm in need of knee replacement and stylish shoes that are wearable are few and far between for me. I think this style is super cute and different. The cutouts are sexy and would complement anything in my summer wardrobe. Right now, I'm thinking of my chocolate ankle pants and chocolate with turquoise top.. Yeah, these are what I want!

Okay, so this is not an entry, since I'm not eligible to win…but welcome back Jitterbugbaby, been awhile with your busy life keeping you from writing on Shoeblog for too long. Of course, I've been combating computer issues of late, so it's great to see another shoe-fiend in here while I'm out for technical issues.
