Dear Dior
Posted on July 1st, 2008 by jitterbugbaby under Dior Shoes, Fall 2008 Shoes, Fashion Week, John Galliano ShoesMy love for John Galliano has been well documented on this blog. It is eternal and undying.
And it is here in full force again for his Fall 2008 Dior Couture collection from the Paris runways.
How can you not love the dramatic bravura of clothing like this?

The shoes are just as dramatic, though I don’t find them as beautiful as some of his other footwear creations have been in the past, and I don’t think their creativity is at the same level as the clothing in this collection.
But I’ll let you be the judge.

I love the yellow exotic heels. Can always count on JPG to show drama in the collection. Wonder how much drama and personality will cost with the yellow heels???

I don’t think I’d ever have occasion to wear such heels as these. OK, maybe the black sandal with the bow on the back, provided I found a way to walk at that altitude.
The chain-link and leather work involved on the last two are a bit breathtaking when I think about the handwork and time involved to create that type of detailed mesh. Not my style, but kudos to the lady or celebrity who carries it of with style & panache.
As for the clothing, the level of skill and attention to detail required to create something like this is just extraordinary. I dream of someday having a portion of such technical skill.
