Designer Shoe deja-vu, the floral espadrille edition
Posted on April 25th, 2007 by shoesense under Designer Shoe Déja Vu, Stuart Weitzman Shoes, WedgesWhen it comes to summer, it’s hard to think of more appropriate footwear than a flowery-print espadrille. (I know I’m jumping a season here, perhaps giddy with the excitement of the past three days of wonderful, blessed spring, but hey! a girl’s got to think ahead). So. Where was I. Espadrilles! With pretty flower print uppers! Right. Well, designers also think that it’s, why, a swell idea all around.
From Anne Klein we have this beautiful print twisted in a knot on the vamp, with a coquettish slingback that opens up the outer arch ($185 at Shoes.com):

Paul Smith goes for the green, and this low-wedge criss-cross espadrille will turn you in an instant frolicker. (It’s a word! I swear!). They’re $239 at Zappos:

Equally enticing are these Stuart Weitzman (also criss-cross) ‘Pumpex’ wedges, with a natural linen printed upper ($250 at Zappos):

I love all of them with a purple passion. Heck, make that a red-yellow-green-blue-purple passion! I beg of you, don’t make me choose!!!
