Designer Fug: Salvatore Ferragamo
Posted on November 2nd, 2007 by shoesense under Salvatore Ferragamo Shoes, Walking Disasters![]()

These are Salvatore Ferragamo “Prima” leather ballet flats, selling for a handsome $390 at Neiman Marcus.
I’m here to tell you what you already know: they’re ugly. Fugly, even. No, really. I think my late grandmother used to wear something like this in the 80s. But only because she had a diabetic foot.
I’m convinced the leather and craftsmanship are top-notch, but the styling in no way befits the legacy of the man who shod the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren, Rita Hayworth, etc., etc. etc.

I remember being at the Ferragamo showroom on 5 Ave in New York while they explain the new direction to a younger ferragamo, this was 6-7 years ago. I guess they gave up and went back to Grandma.
