D&G Candy Coated Pumps

D&G, Dolce & Gobbana’s more youthful line, takes a basic black high heeled shoe and turns it into a sweet sprinkled dream with these gorgeous, brightly colored, completely magical D&G Candy Coated Pumps ($796 at Zappos).

I think these D&G pumps are adorable. I mean, they are just the cutest things I have ever seen. It’s so easy to design and market a classic black pump. Every woman needs a pair, most of us have multiple pairs, and we’ll most likely by lots more in our lifetimes. But don’t they get a little tiring? I’m often on the lookout for classic black shoes that have a little pizzazz – and these definitely fit the bill. They’re like little ice cream sundaes covered in candy coated sprinkles. They look like they’ve been doused in confetti. They’re just precious!

The sprinkles, by the way, are actually crystals, which is even better. These are the perfect shoes if you’re looking to dazzle and shine during holiday parties this winter. The upper portion is made of leather, as is the sole, and the lining is leather as well. They have a peep toe, but don’t worry if you are  wondering how to wear them in the winter. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: peep toes are why stockings were invented! Actually, that’s probably not true, but they do prevent your toes from getting cold, and quite stylishly at that.

As you can see, the pumps have a stiletto heel – and even the heel is covered in candy coated crystals! I love the way D&G has with details. It measures out to about 4 inches, even.

What do you think? Are these the perfect shoes for the holiday season, or do you prefer something more basic – or even more flamboyant?
