It has taken a while to look at- and comment on- everything featured in each Fashion Week. I have been critical of the shoes featured so far. They have been uninspired, uninteresting, unoriginal. While there is nothing new under the sun, John Galliano’s collection for Christian Dior featured, fun, colorful and reasonably interesting shoes.
I have read criticism that these shoes are too subdued for John Galliano, and that the collection isn’t really a Dior Girl’s collection. I am not sure who the Dior Girl is and what she is supposed to wear, but subdued isn’t the term I would use for this collection. It would be nice to get an upclose and personal look at these to see how they are made.
When looking at the collection, the image of Mitzi Gaynor singing, I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair came to mind.
Let’s look at the rest of the shoes and part of the collection.
Here are some of the dresses. I can see some of the gowns on the red carpet.
Notice the size of the duffle bag/purse.
I love how John dresses up for his fashion shows.

Absolutely Fabulous! These shoes/boots are rockin…and would enhance any outfit anyone could come up with to show the style/depth/color of these shoes! Would buy every pair. Great colors/style….just fabulous!

I love ribbon-wrapped sandals, so these are working for me. The boots are super cute. Luckily for my pocket book, there are similar styles available now in the mid-range since buckles, wraps, spats & removable sleeves have coming into the retail shoe scene for about 6 or so months.

I had a very interesting conversation regarding the seasonality of boots which I think can pretty much be worn all year round depending on the style so its interesting to see these lovely specimens in the Dior SS11 collection…Galliano is the one!

I like the bright colours and how ropes and ribbons are used as straps. Also, those boots are something I can see someone wearing in real-life.
