Donna Karan’s Birds of Paradise

DKNY has combined two of the year’s biggest shoe trends, feathers and crystals, in its Bird of Paradise gladiators. I guess they’ve found a way to reinvent the gladiator — by basically hiding it behind feathers!
The shoes have been strutted on the red carpet by Ms. Emmy Rossum, wearing a daring contrasting red dress.
I like the idea of these with silk cropped slacks or silk shorts, or a dramatic gown where the “bird of paradise” feathers just barely peep out.
This shoe might win the award for most trends combined in a shoe, from color to crystals to feathers.
