Dsquared2 Skeletal Stilettos, Part 2: Fingerbone Heels
posted by: brianka in Boots, Fall 2010 Shoes, General, High heels, Platforms, Sandals on July 6th, 2010
I was originally going to write about the Dsquared2 fall 2010 shoe pre-orders in a single post. But, I soon realized that trying to squeeze everything into one article would do a disservice to this year’s two main style silhouettes.
While both yesterday’s spine-heeled shoes and todays finger-bone stilettos are similar in theme, they each deserve their own moment in the spotlight.
Yesterday’s offerings were solid, heavy styles that exude an intriguing combination of power and goth style.
Today’s finger-bone shoes are a more elegant interpretation of the skeletal theme. Slender’ metallic-stiletto heels - in your choice of a toned-down, silver-heeled, ankle bootie or and evening sandal bedecked with blood-red rhinestones and sparkly gold heel.
Costume-y?
Hell yes! But, I am an avowed lover of statement shoes. When it comes to the more dream-shoe price ranges, I want, I crave, I need drama.
These shoes deliver.
And yes, I’ll admit that I’m biased. Halloween has been my favorite holiday since forever.
Dsquared fingerbone stilettos $835-$964 pre-order from Luisaviroma; arrival NLT 9/30/2010; Coordinating jewelery accessories $265.20 – $820.

Whilst browsing the internet I came across a London based company who create fetish shoes, which reminded me of this collection. They have a beautiful range.

The bracelet is my favorite & reasonably priced for a designer piece. The love bracelet I like is actually vanity priced in the 4 figures. If I get one it’ll probable be vintage. Plus, I’ve been making jewelery off and on this year & could probably design something similar for less if I really wanted.Galligator, oo you’re right behind me! I just realized the prices for the jewelry are less — I was looking at the shoe pricing, doh! Hmm I can afford to buy myself some jewelry! I’m actually leaning towards the ring or bracelet as I wouldn’t wear the pin as much (but it would look amazing on my beat up old MC jacket!)

Valentina – Yep, they are straight up art.
Suzanne – My 19th anniversary is this October, but not quite Halloween. I'm wanting a love bracelet (though I usually don't ask or expect jewellery gifts), but these would do & be more affordable. The bracelet, in particular.

The jewelry is stunning, especially with the touch of red. Le sigh. Maybe I can get my husband to buy me a piece as a 20th wedding anniversary gift? I'd say that's the perfect compliment to a Halloween anniversary, no?

Wow, they are very creative, beautiful and interesting. For some reason, I don't want them on my feet. Strange, I want to own the sandals with the red stones and the gold heel, but not to wear?

I would settle for the bracelet. Just a touch of elegant goth & more chance to wear it than the shoes. Halloween soft spot or no.

Ooh, love Gorey (no surprise there, eh?). You could always wear them for a photo-shoot. Having a hubby/sig other who likes how one looks in heels is not necessarily a bad thing…though it does mean you have to control yourself better than those without an enthusiastic enabler.

Ha! My boyfriend, an artist who does gore-scary shirt illustrations, would love to buy those for me. Not that I'd wear them or anything Haha
